Maybe Abin Sur rescues Ben during the spaceflight?

What about the other three?

not bad an idea at thatDead. Gotta break a few eggs to get an omlette.
Of course many years later they'd rise as Black Lanterns. Or...
Sue becomes a Red Lantern.
Reed becomes an Orange Lantern.
Johnny becomes a Star Sapphire.
We'll say that Doom was offered the Sinestro ring for the sector.
This could be fun.

Those of you commenting on Doomsday beating Thor without much difficulty MUST be talking about classic Thor. I haven't read the last few Thor issues, but I do know that current Thor has Odinforce, and not only destroyed the Destroyer armor without much difficulty, but even recreated all of Asgard with nothing more than a thought.
DD goes down against that level of power without a doubt.
P.s. The Rulk incident was pure ******ation obviously. I can't respect anyone who cites it as anything other than a grievous example of comic writing at its worst.
First of all, I'm getting a little tired of this debate over whether or not Thor could beat Doomsday single handed. The problem is an apparent lack of consistancy in Marvel's writing. Judging by the posts I've read on this thread in his own comics Thor is so powerful that all he has to do is fart and he'd wipe out all the villains in the entire Marvel Universe in one foul swoop. But in any comics where he's teaming up with other superheroes (The Avengers, Marvel Zombies, Hulk vs Rulk, etc) they power him down, presumably in order to keep him from outshining his companions. In my scenario I had Doomsday meet The Avengers, so he was battling THE AVENGERS COMICS Thor, not THOR COMICS Thor. And THE AVENGERS COMICS Thor would need help fighting Doomsday. End of debate!
you know what? It would have been worth it for one time in goddamn ever him being able to be in a comic actually called captain the goddamn marvel.

ozymandas silk spectre IIand rorshack respectivelyHow about The JLA Meet The Watchmen? Or even The JLA vs The Watchmen? Relatively easy to do since both comics are done by DC. But it makes for some interesting pairings. For example:
Dr. Manhatten and Superman. Would Superman's Kryptonian DNA actually be resistant to Dr. Manhatten's powers?
The Flash and The Guy Who Kills The Comedian (I only saw the movie once and don't own the graphic novel, I'll make corrections later). The rich dude is fast enough to dodge bullets, but is he faster than The Flash?
Batman and Night Owl. These two are most alike. Similar skills, even similar costumes/body armor. A fight between the two would be interesting to watch.
Wonder Woman and Miss Jupiter. (Was that her name?) Anyway, Wonder Woman would have the edge if these two ever got into it, as her bracelettes, belt, and tiarra give her superhuman abilities.
Green Arrow and The Comedian. These two are quite evenly matched. Should a fight break out between the two of them it should prove quite entertaining.
Green Lantern and The Ink Blot Guy (told you I couldn't remember their names). Hal's power ring gives him a decided advantage. Without it, it would be an interesting fight.
Only real question is what threat would be great enough to bring both teams together? And what would be the spark that forces a confrontation between two sets of heroes.
