What would supes have said at the end of the movie?

"Oh crap! I am a dead man when puberty hits! All I am going to hear is 'You let another man raise me! You left for another planet after soiling mother! You abandoned me! You don't listen to me! What about my wants, Dad! What about my needs!' Time to build another ship and get the f' out of dodge while the gettin's good!"

I didn't see that coming. well played...

I'll add my own then.

"I sure am glad I didn't have to change diapers, but I am sorry for the years I missed watching you grow. You will be different. You will sometimes be viewed as an outcast. But if you need me, I will always be around from now on, my child."

That might have been fine.

"stop usin that x-ray vision on me."

You know, there is an EXTREMELY simple way of taking Jason out of the picture without killing him. By "piggy-backing" Superman: TM and Superman II, he opened that door. Some of the smarter posters on here can think about it, and figure it out as well I think.

I actually tried thinking about it...over my head.

Trust me, if I were to say, people would say "Oh yeah, why didn't I think of that?"

Whatever it may be, I hope that WB uses the idea.

That's why I am hesitant to post it on here.

What if they choose NOT to use it, because someone posted it on a message board? Trust me, it deals with the Kid in a sensible, could even be heart-wrenching, way. But he definitely doesn't die.

Anything to remove the baggage.

Red rays in FOS that takes away Zod and company's powers takes away baby Jason' powers before birth?
I don't think that is right but I thought I would give it a shot.

Ahh, very close. Ok, here it is in a nutshell:

Jason's Kryptonian and Human DNA are just not in "harmony". Lois and Superman find out he is dying, and Superman has to make a decision that is heart-breaking, but is in his son's best interest.

He places him inside the Red Sun chamber and removes all traces of his Kryptonian DNA.

Jason lives, Superman does the right thing (even though it takes away that connection to his son), and no threat of "Son of Superman" down the line.

I like that...he wouldn't have to die and it would be very hard on Superman....Good thinking  :super:

the red sun chamber only surpresses kryptonian traits and such much like a red sun does, not change their dna.

But anyway I don't really like the idea since the kid has been around for 5 years, it makes sense he'd keep being around even more with his super powers finally manifesting like clark's did as a youth. He only got stronger, not weaker.

The kid is like blade now. All supe's strengths, none of his weaknesses, if we remember he barely felt anything from the kryptonite. But it might just be a goofy plot hole I guess since neither did supes later. Why would luthor suspect the kid would show signs of illness if supes doesn't really have any later while standing on krypto rock and everything?

...and lifting an entire island of it while there are still shards in him.

They can't get rid of Jason now. He's like a scorching case of herpes. There is nothing anyone can do to get rid of it!

Actually, you are wrong about the chamber. If you watch Superman II again, when he is inside, there is an obvious reference to it changing him at the MOLECULAR level. Look at the pain, the stripping of him down to the bone. It was to signify him BECOMING human. Hence, his mother saying "If you choose to spend your life with a mortal, you must live your life AS a mortal". So my theory is quite correct, and the right way to go.

Everything else you posted is semantics, and can be easily rectified.

Wrong. I just gave a PERFECTLY plausible way of "getting rid of him". It makes sense, follows the "Donner Vision" BS is hung-up on, and gives Superman some pathos.

Maybe becuase of the way the kid was eyeing it, perhaps? He looked afraid actually...but then nothing happened, which was weird

I really have no idea what that magical red sun chamber thing was really doing. I'm just trying to be logical. If supes was human when he slept with lois then jason would be human, you know?

Hence, the illogical nature of his "vague history"....But my theory WOULD work, since they never actually came out and said they slept together AFTER he went into the chamber.

I know we don't usually agree on anything about SR...but I agree with you on this...great thinking!:word:

Thank you.

The unfortunate thing about it all is, it probably will never see the light of day. It's there, it would fit in what BS has done, and will close a chapter that NEVER should have been written in the first place.
