What IF? Marvel really did buy DC

No, Marvel takes up about 50%, DC takes up about 48%, and the other publishers take up about 2%. There's still competition between Marvel and DC. Merge DC with Marvel and Marvel's primary competition goes away. A lack of competition tends to make quality drop, since people are going to buy their crap anyway. Ergo, Marvel's comics would have nothing to compete with and their quality would probably drop over time. More than they already have. Which would suck.

yeah well cos theres such a brand-loyalty thang goin on, marvel don't really go for quality now anyway. its about grabbing new readers, not appreciating old ones now.anything to get ahead of DC ever so slightly and attract film producers.sad but true.

haha, true. thats why an ultimates movie wud rule but wud never work. u cudnt have hulk in there for starters.he's already licensed out.hmm, they cud replace him with abomination maybe?

i think Dc comics might have a better chance of buying Marvel, or i would have to say Warner Brothers could have bought marvel comics in the mid 90s when they filed fo bankrupcy.

true, probably not with the money makin movie franshises though.

DC might have a better chance but that doesnt change the facts that Marvel was really in negotiation's with DC.

Well back in the 90's Marvel was pretty screwed, but these days their just pulling in the dough hand over fist and with Spider-man 3 coming out next year. Well they don't have to worry about money troubles anymore:D

Personally, I'd love to see more crossovers, and a return of the Amalgam concept,(fusing charecters from the two Universes together) only done right, instead of just slapping together the most popular charecters at the time and hoping something sticks.
