Don't get me wrong, I'm still not in favor of the unmasking... not because it isn't interesting as a "What If" kind of thing, but mainly because it is a gross misrepresentation of Peter Parker as a character.

However, I stood in the bookstore the other day and read the Civil War comics and their various tie-ins. I especially enjoyed New Avengers, where Cap is trying to recruit AntMan and he double crosses Cap.

Hell, I even enjoyed ASM where Peter tells Tony that he only calls him "boss" because he knows it pisses him off... I'm glad they at least cleared up that little mis-characterization.

So what if we are wrong and this does turn out to be something cool for Spidey... so long as they retcon it later?

Edit: And so long as Spidey kicks the living crap out of Tony later on!!!

How could a nude farmer be wrong??

Seriously tho, glad you are enjoying it...some people are...that's great.

Eh, if people like it, sweet I wish I was in that boat. However I don't see it lasting that long, and I don't see it actually offering anything but a What If? Scenario

gotta agree with CK....not liking it personally...woulda been nice if they had made it a WHAT-If type tale, instead of cramming it down everyone's throats and into continuity knowing they are gonna have a backlash and have to fix it.

to each his own tho.

no we are not wrong, the fans are never wrong.

youre joking right? fans are nearly always wrong. we demand stupid things and disagree with everything. yes this unmasking may be bad for some but i enjoy it. its all just opinion

A cool what if. Look I wouldn't mind if someone unmasked him in front of everybody like GG or Iron Man in a massive fight where he shows he is a hero without the mask on.

But to publically do it because of a bull**** law that infringes on the Constitution, Spidey's good judgment and common sense just becaues "Iron Man told me too" is stupid, really. Not to mention out of character though.

Ditto

Also I don't think it's a matter of being right or wrong (though some would disagree), but more of a happy/unhappy situation. I would rather be wrong, but happy with the books than right and unhappy with them

Well Spidey unmasking was because he's become Iron Man's teenage sidekick, Iron Lad and his mentor will keep his family safe. Once Iron Lad realizes the mistake he made and becomes Spider-Man again, I bet Iron Man will toss him out of Stark Tower on his @$$ and there goes the protection for his family. It's all a ploy to kill MJ this winter when JMS will finally "fix" everything that's wrong with Spidey's life, mainly him being a happily married man.

I've liked it since day one, so I wouldn't be wrong. :)

He shoulda' kicked the crap outta' Tony when Tony said they'll enforce this law and lay the smackdown on other heroes. If they were going to unmask Spidey it should have been Tony winning a fight and unmasking Peter and then Pete joining Cap. This is still bull****.

As for now Peter just comes off as the Marvel Universe's stupidest and biggest tool in the world. Such is life, no?

Who's "we"?

That kind of implies that EVERYONE is against the unmasking, which is far from the case.

Obviously the thread is meant for those that have been against it, not those that haven't.
