Repeatedly in Batman & Robin, the dymanic duo and then Batgirl repeatedly fire grappling hooks, or Batarangs, to haul themselves upwards. It's ridiculous how many different things they have, especially Batman, to do the same job. In the climax, Batman has atleast three different types of grappling hook that do essentially the same job. And why is it that Schumachre has to have the characters use them so much anyway?

I don't know, but the grappling hooks in Batman & Robin were all really big and gawdy looking. No way they could have all fit on Batman's belt at once.

Personally i like they use the grappling hook's so much.
I hope we will see christian bale use his more aswell.

As for the size to fit on batman's belt, Its a movie...

i just hated how they fired out of their gloves. and how the hooks would punch right through a wall, but the wall would be able to support their weight being hauled upward.

LOL, yeah like at the beginning of Batman Forever when Batman shoots his grappling hook through the wall, and it supports an entire bank safe and a man. Oh well, "It's a movie...".

Yeah, they were bloody awful. The 'belts' that they wore didn't even look like they could carry a single grappling hook as it was anyway. :down

Lol yeah about the safe in BF... funny how he shot a hook in the right spot and it slid back into the bank perfectly...

Oh well, BF was still a pretty fun film, good memories. I hope one day somebody will do a recut of the entire film with those really good deleted scenes.

Let's not forget the grappling hook on the Batmobile in Forever...

Oh gawd, when it went it up the side of the building supported only by a cheap looking gargoyle. lol. :)

Joel Schumachers answer for everything illogical in his movies were: "Oh well, it's a Batman movie".

Simple: Schumacher was told by WB to make Batman Forever and Batman and Robin into massive toy comercials. If you look at any of Schumacher's other work, he should have crafted a brilliant Batman film. Falling Down shows just how well he could have portrayed Harvey Dent's descent into madness.

Batman reaching for his grappling hook near in his utility belts allowed for more crotch shots.

Ahahahaha, :woot: .

Did anyone see that behind the scenes clip on the 'Forever' second disc, that has Joel with his arms wrapped around Tommy Lee Jones, practically dry humping him, while Tommy's like "ehhh?".

No. I have to look for it now.

It's in the Shadow of the bat featurette or the "Riddle Me This: Why is Batman Forever?" featurette, I think.

Not to mention that the grappling hooks are (or may be considered) phallus objects by itself. :woot:
