All Star Batgirl Announced!

I would never stoop so low as to compare anyone to Miller, but ever since IC ended, and even before, with Green Lantern, Johns has been doing extremely poorly, and that combined with the fact that an All-Star Batgirl title is idiotic in theory doesn't bode well.

That last part is what bothers me most. If it was an All Star Flash title or something, I'd be thrilled. But Batgirl...

Dude, I loved the Aquaman title. I started picking it up with issue 29 and in, like, a month, it became one of my favorite titles. It was light, it was adventurous, it was fun. Busiek took all that away, and replaced it with...well, I don't know what.

Guice's art sorta sux too.

Busiek didn't take it all away, he saved it from being cancelled. Didio was going to axe the book until Busiek made his last-second pitch for the present title, and Didio spared it to see what he could do with it.

I bet you wish it was that simple, right? 'Cause then you'd be right.

But you're not.

We may not know exactly how it's going to be, but we don't really need to, to predict whether we will like it or not. It's all about trend.

Based off of Johns' most recent showings, this comic has extremely little promise. Every single one of Johns' latest showings has been disappointing, so to make a prediction off of that trend is not inappropriate. Many people, such as myself, don't like the character of Barbara Gordon at all, and feel she is in no way iconic, let alone deserving of an "All-Star" title. And many people, again, such as myself, believe the All-Star line shouldn't even exist. Sure, All-Star Superman is great, but I would give it up in a heart-beat if Morrison would focus his attention on something that mattered to mainstream continuity. The All-Star line is a depressingly massive waste of talent.

That's how you predict how you're going to feel about a comic book before it's released.

Bull****. You can always judge before hand, we do it everyday. We judge a movie before we go see it, is it worht my time, or not? Thats a judgement. Its also an easily reversed argument.

Considering how he explains the focus of the story going I think the choice of Jones is excellent and im looking forward to it.
