How long can the dude live, approximatley.

I din't know. As long as he feels like, I guess. Being indestructible limits the your possible causes of death by a good deal. But really, is it that important?

Our current Superman is supposed to live until at least the 853rd century. And probably longer.

Though in Seven Soldiers there was no Superman on the Sheeda ruled Earth a billion years or so into the future.

In many alternate futures Supermans hair has been shown to go gray like a normal man.

And I wonder if he would age like a normal person if he were kept under a red sun.

Saw a few remarks in some books and movie he was immortal but truthfully I think Kal-El can live several hundred years, that is if he stays under a yellow sun

nah that would make him immortal and i really don't think he is. He must age. Well he has in Kingdom Come but in continuity?

Damn 853rd century? Wow, i'd like to see an elseworlds tale coveing all this stuff.

Aging won't make you any worse for the wear if you're nigh indestructible and immune to a majority of diseases. The only reason aging's a problem is because your immune system starts to decline after a while.

Well he obviously ages but due to him being Kryptonian and living underneith a yellow sun, it allows him to age at a slower process after he has reached a certain age I guess. Once he is at his prime, his aging process starts to slow down. A human can live to be 100, but not many make it to that point due to health and since Superman rarely gets sick living till the 853rd century shouldnt be hard. But since he spent awhile as an ordinary human that could have messed up his system a little and he will probably age to the point of having grey hair and a little bit of wrinkles and then slow down.

We saw how Earth2 Supes aged, and Clark would age similar to him.

Out of Trinity, if you let them age naturally, Bruce would be the first to die, followed by Clark, and Diana would outlive them all.

A human can live past 100. Hell, some people think that human beings can, theoretically, live indefinately without actually being immortal, but because of our relatively frail nature and sheer statistics, no one has yet.

i heard 120 is the maximum before our bodies can't cope anymore

Not exactly. The maximum is judged solely by how old the oldest recorded person is. If a 140 year old shows up, the maximum will change.

Unless you are a turtle, they can live several hundred years old and their organs don't wear out like ours

Supermans like a small Star and will eventually have to die. I give him atleast 150-170 years, buy then his body would no longer be able to handle his powers or his on mass. His eventual death will probabbly cause a super nova explosion. I could also compare him to a balloon, the more heluim is pumped into the balloon, the bigger and stronger it gets over time. It evenutally will get to big if you keep pumping, and it will explode obviously.

Yeah that's really applicable to the conversation, or to someone saying "our bodies". Yeah, our bodies deteriorate...unless you are a turtle!!!

Think a little before you post, please:whatever:

is dc one million in continuity or an elseworld?

That's not really aplicable. Yes, he's constantly absorbing solar energy. But he's also constantly using it up. It's his power source. Peple's stomachs don't (normally) burst from too much food. Why? Because we're constantly using up the fuel we intake. So, it's unlikely that his cells would every burst from too much solar energy unless too much was forced into him by an outside force (like in All Star Superman).

which is true, unless he at some point retired from heroics and didnt expend the energy he as intaking

He'd still be expending the energy. His powers aren't the only part of him that draws power from the sun. His body's solar charge lends energy to every single function in his body. It's why he doesn't really need to eat or sleep all that much.

Mainly in-continuity. The Hourman android came back from that time and stuck around, as well as the Justice Legion A, who hung out with the JLA. Although Superman One Million did show up in All-Star Superman.

i am assuming that though he would expend some energy, it would be no comparission for the amount used by his abilities... i imagine it would be similar to caloric intake on a diet, take in more calories then you expend, you grow larger, expend more then you take in, your body eats at the stored calories and you slim down

I doubt calories and solar energy can be so easily compared.

well if you compare it to a battery his cells would burn out eventually... no battery lasts forever... i though that my comparison was reasonable considering we are techincally talking about biology (comic book alien, but biology nonetheless) so i felt it was reasonable to extrapolate from what we do know about physiology and energy/fuel exertion, and apply an imaginative twist... besides this is all speculation since until a writer defines it, its not cannon... and even then that could change in the next crisis! :)
