What Kinda Wrestling Thread You Runnin' Here?

Just goes to show what a wasted opportunity his recent run has been. Lesnar vs Rollins is so damn appealing I was almost hoping Cena would lose tonight.

Cena has been Hogan circa WM9 for a long time now. People are tired of him with all the younger, more capable talent around.

Thank. You.

OnTheAir and Bensta are off the hook for that cameo.

Well the WWE is gonna ride the Cena train as long as they can. Besides, none of the younger talent has the kid fan base like Cena. Again, this PG era WWE wants to make money off families more so older fans. Cena sells more Merch than any star on the roster by far.

Two words: Adam. Rose.

Two more words: Bray. Wyatt.

Pretty much.

The major problem is that Vince thinks taking Cena out of the ME spotlight will cost him viewers, when it's been proven that's not the case. Cena doesn't need to turn heel (even though I would like it to happen for a change in character), but he doesn't need to be competing for the top title anymore either.

Ambrose, D-Bry, Balor, and Owens were top sellers on merch. Vince doesn't care because it's probably the adults buying them.

Looking at a gif of Lesnar hitting Show with the F5 and the reason Show lands on his back is because Show uses him arm to push off Lesnar's shoulder when Lesnar easily cleared him.

What WWE or NXT act would Road Dogg fit best with as a manager?

Bray is more over with older fans. Adam Rose has the appeal I guess but isn't there yet. I been watching wrestling since I was young in the 90's so I too am tired of Super Cena and would love for the younger talent to get pushed. But from a business side, I see why WWE constantly pushes Cena. He is the face of the company, he is used for media interviews, and kids are is fan base and kids means loads of parents buying Cena Merch which means more money. No other talent besides maybe Daniel Bryan comes close to having that kid fan base. If this was the attitude era then things would be different. But since we are stuck in this PG era/ family friendly era we are stuck with super Cena. Unless WWE creative changes their ways.

What WWE or NXT act would Road Dogg fit best with as a manager?

Yeah for Roman Reigns. He badly needs one. Either Road Dogg or Paul Heymon when Brock leaves. His mic skills suck.

Remember when Seth Rollins was supposed to be the forgotten Shield member?

Would anybody be up for Lesnar vs. Bryan even if it wasn't for the title? Here's what I thinking lets say Lesnar loses the belt at WM due to Cena pinning Rollins. Lesnar gets pissed off that he wasn't pinned and takes it out on Cena. Rollins waking up from a AA sees his chance to cash in his MITB and takes the title from John Cena.

Enter the RR the Final 4 Roman Reigns Daniel Bryan Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose. It comes down to Bryan and Reigns what if for some reason Brock gets involved simply because Bryan has been talking about having a possible match with him at WM. So he costs Bryan the match setting up Lesnar vs. Bryan for WM Cena vs. Rusev and Rollins vs. Reigns at WM. Just a thought cause the only reason I could see Reigns getting Fan Support is if he faces his former team mate that turned his back on him.

I don't think Rollins will win on Sunday because he'll be on the receiving end of an RKO.

Is Lesnar contract up after the Rumble or is it after WM 31?

After 'Mania. Although, they are considering taking the title off of Brock at the Rumble. They don't want a situation with Lesnar like they had with Bret, in which the champIon was known by everyone to be leaving after a big ppv.

This. Folks can complain about Cena all they want, but as long as he is making Vince money, he's not going anywhere. Yes, his act is stale. Yes, he's been doing the same thing for 10 years. Yes, he could benefit from a Hollywood Hogan-style heel turn. But women love him, children adore him, and he still moves an insane amount of merchandise for WWE.

Until Vince can find someone who:

1) has Cena's all-American clean cut look
2) is well-spoken
3) carries himself well and won't get into trouble in this TMZ age
4) will become a total company man who will project a positive image of himself and WWE on talk shows and Make-A-Wish appearances
5) sells an obscene amount of t-shirts, baseball caps, wristbands, headbands, dvds, etc.

then you can expect to see plenty more of Mr. Hustle/Loyalty/Respect.

^Rollins as a face would do all of that IMO. He is an outstanding heel currently though.

I like the idea of Road Dogg with Reigns. As a face or heel, I think it would work well. Or I could more realistically see him being paired with Cesaro and Kidd. I think that would be a great mid card stable Cesaro, Kidd, Rose, Nattie, and Dogg as the mouth piece.

Here's my beef with Vince though, he's so stuck up his own ass that he assumes that the only way guys can make money for him is if they fit his preferences which is asinine. Because his preferences are clean cut and big muscles but he forgets that each "face of the company" he or his dad ever had worked because they were different from each other.

Buddy Rogers and Bruno Sammartino were nothing alike. Bob Backlund was nothing like them.

Hogan was nothing like any of the above and Bret was nothing like him. Austin and Rock were different from each other yet nothing like any of the above.

Cena WAS nothing like any of the above but em they TURNED him into being a ripoff of Hogan and The Rock while causing him to come off like Luger 2.0

Bryan is nothing like any of the above, he's mega over, sells a lot of Merch, can draw for events, and tends to dominate viewership
With his segments. If they backed him completely he can easily be "The Guy". Punk outsold Cena in Merch as a face but it was ruined when they had him turn heel for Rocky's sake.

Either way, as times change interest change and I wish Vince realized that.

Sting finally appeared again? I'll check out wwe.com for pics&video in a bit. What did Cena do this time to have fans pissed yet again?

RE Sting in WWE:

Better late than never.

Until he actually showed up at the Survivor Series, I never thought he would ever step in a WWE ring.

It won't be long before the decision is going to be out of WWE's hands. Cena has been wrestling full-time for 14 years, 10 of which he's been a main eventer with a brutal travel schedule. He'll be 38 this year, and he's sustained several major injuries. The inherent risks of the wrestling business have been well-documented. WWE either needs to drastically lighten Cena's work load, or be prepared for the inevitable day when he sustains a severe injury.

if I am not mistaken, this is the largest roster of black superstars the WWE has had in some time.

Mark Henry

Big E

Kofi

Xavier Woods

Booker T ( not actively wrestling)

Alicia Foxx

R Truth

Titus O Neil

Darren Young

That's kinda sad.

Cameron, David Otunga (still on the payroll), Byron Saxton, Eden, Sasha Banks, Jason Jordan from NXT, Uhaa Nation (on his way to NXT after he finishes his indie commitments), arguably Layla...I think that's it. Agreed... this must be the largest number of people of African descent that Vince has employed (on screen).

It's true Vince and Co need to start building up other talent because Cena is only getting older and can't do this forever. I mean he is 38 this year and he only needs one bad injury/ botched move and he is done for good. Not wishing anything bad on the guy but it's the nature of the business. Then WWE would be scrambling around for talent to fill the void.
