Barnett's always been a huge wrestling fan and calls his style pro wrestling/catch wrestling.

Who is this now?

Santana Garrett. She was Brittany in TNA and the E really should sign her to NXT

That's nice. He was still not as into the match as his partner. Plus I didn't particularly like his one comment where he said one submission Okada was using wasn't effective and then he proceeded to pump himself up and say something to the effect of "You do what you can when you're not as knowledgeable as me" That's not exactly what he said but it was similar. My comment about being more than a puro wrestling and MMA guy was more about Ranallo than Bennett, because I know him from PRIDE, and didn't know the extent of his wrestling knowledge.

Dragon Gate is off to a great start this year. I totally recommend checking out the Open the New Year Gate show if you get the chance. Lots of great action and storytelling, and several newer guys getting to shine.

Why does Lashley talk? All his intimidation factor goes out the window when he opens his mouth

What's the freaking point of Low-Ki dropping the X Division title only to win it back the next week?

I'm a James Storm fan but The Revolution sucks.

I thought the matches were fine but nothing really good.

EC3 trolling JB continues to be entertaining.

Looling forward to Havoc vs Kong at some point.

Again, I'm glad Young is heel because he's not a guy I'm going to get behind and cheer anyway.

Honeslty guys do you think the Backstage Fallout segments would actually enhance the shows like Raw if they were on there instead of the Internet?

Seriously those vignettes have more character development than the Raws.

I remember when the APA use to have several backstage scenes in their "office" backstage and at the "Friendly Tap" bar.

Yes.

Yes.

YES.

:hehe:

Ha. I definitely think that Raw gets a little too routine and claustrophobic in their presentation at times and the Raws being 3 hours shows there are no excuses for not utilizing the backstage stuff and on-location stuff in the shows to develop characters and feuds while still giving a healthy bit of wrestling. It would be better than constant ad spamming, 40 minute promos, context less matches etc etc to fill the show.

Backstage promos used to be such an integral part of Raw and wrestling in general, it'd be refreshing to see that again.

Met everybody at Mandalay Bay (including Johnny Ace again) and they were all cool with pictures and autographs as well as some for some small chat except for Reigns and Rusev being lemons with fans although the Bulgarian Brute shook my hand so it wasn't a total loss.

Looks weak on paper, but the house show here last night was surprisingly good. I hadn't been to a house show in years and I had a great time. They even have a mini-Titan Tron now!

The Usos defeated Miz/Dow with the Double superkick and splash.

Sin Cara pinned Tyson Kidd with The Senton.

Jack Swagger submitted Curtis Axel with The Patriot Lock.

Justin Gabriel pinned Adam Rose.

Dean Ambrose pinned Bray Wyatt in a Street Fight (basically TLC Lite as they used chairs, tables, and kendo sticks) after hitting him with Dirty Deeds. MOTN.

Chris Jericho did a Highlight Reel segment making fun of Triple H & Stephanie McMahon. Antonio Cesaro interrupted, trash talking Las Vegas and Y2J. This led to a match, which Jericho won with The Codebreaker.

Paige, Naomi, and Emma defeated Alicia, Cameron, and Summer after Noami pinned Alicia using The Rear View.

Roman Reigns defeated Alexender Rusev via disqualification after getting hit with the US title. And yes, The Roman was incredibly over with casual fans so if he wins the Royal Rumble, that's why. My ears did not deceive me as I almost suffered hearing loss from the roar of the crowd during the entire match, which wasn't great by workrate standards, but it was a visual wonder seeing the two hosses go at it live and in person!

Watching New Japan Fantasica mania day one. Kushida's Tim Horton's themed Time Splitters t-shirt is the best thing in life.

We need a modern-day version of Fuji Vice, like Los Guerreros' lie, cheat and steal videos, or those Booker T/Goldust skits. That's something Cesaro and Kidd can do to get over, maybe.

Hard to believe its the same gal from WOW.

That's how I feel about Reigns. Don't talk, just fight!

Reigns doesn't have a soft voice like Lashley does at least.

Who here were fans of all the APA vignettes where they were in their office and out at the Friendly Tap?

Those segments were so over that when they decided that the APA was "closed" the crowd really seemed like they were going to miss them.

The whole APA gimmick was awesome. They could work as faces or heels at any given time because they were hired guns. Plus the backstage segments were often great like you said.

It's really a shame that cool things like this they don't do anymore. You'd have think they would have learned from what Chris Kreski brought to the table since stuff like this could help them fill out the 3 hour Raws and develop undercard talent.

Pre-planning can go along way in making fans excited about your product when your top priorities are your core product and not spamming commercials.

I've been watching a few Royal Rumble matches lately, and watching RR 2000 tonight once I have up on the AFC championship game got me thinking...

The most dangerous drinking game might be to watch a Royal Rumble from 2000 or before and take a shot of liquor every time a dead person enters the match.

It's sad and morbid to joke about, but the 2000 match had five dead guys (that I know of). I said something to my friend about this, and now he is going to spend part of his day at work tomorrow researching which a Royal Rumble match has the most dead guys.

It's 1991.
