What next for the WWE, does it have a reason to exist?

LOL

I mean wow.

I don't think WWE will die but way to be defensive Venom bro. :cwink:

That kind of reaction is ingrained in time-tested wrestling fans. It seems that every time some negative event unfolds in the wrestling business, it's detractors want to pronounce it's imminent demise. Ironically, it's often ex-fans who, unlike other shows, decide to crusade against it once they have lost interest.
As I mentioned before, I see a very strong parallels between comic books and pro wrestling. Not only do they feature similar character types and story arcs, they are also embattled forms of entertainment. The death of comics has been trumpted with the advents of cable TV, VHS tapes, video games, and computers. Likewise, wrestling has had to fight battles from within to survive: the early 90s steroid scandal, the death of Owen Hart, the folding of WCW & ECW and the mass exodus of main event talent during the first half of this decade. Each time, fans of comics and wrestling have to defend their interest in a form of entertainment that others insist will become a thing of the past. Often, we even have to endure ugly personal attacks for our fandom. So maybe our skin wears a little thin over time.

I understand dude...it's cool :cwink:

Relax mate, no ugly personal attacks here. As long as you're an adult watch what you want, but understand I think it needs to stop marketing so strongly to kids as it is a scandal filled cesspool at the moment.

Always has been a low brow form of entertainment.

Low bro yes. Entertainment i'm still not convinced.

I can see the need to watch it like any other show. It has plot...be it low brow or not entertaining to some. I can see why some would want to keep up with it. Even the kids! Shame they idolise those guys....maybe the kids just want to be stronger?

Maybe, I see it as self realisation transfer.... Perhaps?

WWE was at best during the late 90s and eary 2000s. After that it just got boring.

True.. true..

but if Jericho came back I'd be a WWE ****e again instantaneously.

Y2J has never been used to his potential...not in WCW and not in the WWF/E. The unified title storyline is a prime example of Vince not ultilizing Jericho's ability to the fullest. If I was him I wouldn't even bother coming back.

The Rock, Undertaker, Triple H and Stone Cold where basically what made WWE good back then. The Rock had so much charisma it did matter who he was wrestling or what it was about. Most these guys today can wrestle good but have little personality or charisma to their characters.

His band Fozzy played in the UK in camberley once...rocked...well kinda. YJ2 ruled.

well i think that was the best thing they ever did for him .outside that he was used in the crappiest storylines and im convinced he could of been a much bigger star . im afraid if he comes back it will only be to job to cena in a feud of the month

^he was suspended for it before but ok elaborate

no, it wasnt

Cryme Tyme's release has been confirmed to be non-drug related. I still haven't heard whether Dinsmore's termination was substance related. Have you heard something concrete?

Rock-left for his movie career.

SCSA-reoccuring neck and knee problems forced him to retire

'Taker: on his way back soon

Foley: wrestles on special occasions but retired for family/health reasons

Hogan: wrestles occasionally but has severe knee problems.

Show: doesn't currently have a contract but rumors are flying that he may have interest in TNA.

I know it is a bit late but I heard Chris Benoit died....

I really like that character.

I don't watch this WWE anymore so that was the reason I found out late.

I watched a recent PPV online, The Great American Bash.

And one of the problems it seems to me that the WWE currently has is, its PPV matches are too short. The reason they are too short is because of the brand splitting, I think. They have two main events in one PPV... so niether one is really much of a highlight.
