These 4 villains could be the more physical villains as opposed to lex luthor, and darkseid is most likely being saved for justice league. Brainiac would be cool in a superman solo film or a justice league film imo.

Parasite. a nice touch, groundbreaking, no need for kryptonite, a good adversary for Supes, even Wondie also. I mean could be great.

In live action for their first time facing them, Metallo with Parasite and Lex as the mastermind would be a great threat to Supes and Bats.

Definitely Metallo. Doomsday would be cool, but I think introducing him now is a bit too soon. Bizarro would also be interesting.

With WW in the mix, I have a feeling that a character related to her mythos might make an appearance. Someone else proposed that Lex has an Amazon bodyguard.

While I'm a bit more keen on Metallo, owing to more recent portrayals of him
(e.g. Geoff Johns' secret origins). However, I see Bizarro as being an imperfect
clone of Superman, that Luthor cooks up from salvaged technology from the
crashed scoutship (like the genesis chambers).

The villain has to be a physical threat to Superman, and any of the guys on the list
could do it, but given the epic battles from MOS, I'm not sure Metallo (while he could
seriously weaken Supes) would be anywhere near as epic as the fights with the
Kryptonians in smallville or Zod.

Having said that, I still think Metallo or the Parasite could work. Doomsday seems to be a villain for a subsequent film, and Darkseid definitely is going to be a job for the JL.

So Bizarro is my # 1 choice, with Metallo a close # 2.

I'd like to see Joker and Parasite in the first act, Darkseid and Hades in the second act, and Brainiac and Lex in the third act, with a "falling action" sequence of Lex merging with Brainiac to form Lexiac like he did in the Justice League cartoon. I think it's essential that the after-the-credits scene involve Doomsday.

Plus Ares is a pretty awesome villain, physically and intellectually.

I doubt we'll ever get a straightforward big-screen adaptation of Death of Superman.

In that version he was a fat man. I guess it depends on the version. I liked the Earth 1 parasite.

I'd like to see villains from other planets, but not villains that are "made on Earth" using this and that. It is not Terminator and it does not take place in 200 years, it takes place apparently in 2016ish times. So, definitely for me no villains made thru cloning that is not possible yet, or super cyborgs or anything. I don't care how many of those characters they may have in comics. Aliens is enough to swallow, lets not go crazy and have aliens and out of control technology that does not exist. It is one thing for something to exist in the comics, it is another to have exist in a movie. The movie is about the character of Superman from a comic. Not all the elements from those comics have to be brought into a movie. Take the best parts of the comic, put it in the real world like they did with the first one, and see what happens. No futuristic technology, no drones, no cloning, etc. Just have Superman face off against other Kryptonians who have been attracted to this planet after Zod and Superman by being here waved the flag basically to the universe saying "Hi, there is life here, etc".

Many scientists would say that it is silly to send out signals into space to say "Hi, we are here" and expect good things to happen because sure, some good things could happen, or we could be stepped on like ants. Use that premise, Superman already made Zod follow him here accidentally but he did, then have that and Zod and companies arrival be like a signal that has now been sent out thru the universe waving the flag. No need for advanced sci-fi technology and all that which is made on Earth when you have the perfect excuse to include aliens. Explore that! Explore what people have been thinking may happen if aliens attacked Earth and we had one alien on our side. Not what if an alien came to the Earth and he was superhuman and attracted other aliens and we cloned one and one thing made him weak and we used advanced sci-fi technology that could do this and that, blah blah blah... Oh yeah and then there is Batman who is a guy from Earth but is so smart he invented this which can beat the alien but no one else even the military had it, and all this.

I think keep it simple is the best way, alien arrives, attracts other aliens, billionaires think aliens attracting aliens is dangerous and don't trust any of the aliens.

Think about the danger that could represent.
There are many scientists that say it is a VERY bad idea to send messages, some don't worry, but some do worry. Why not explore that idea and use the alien villains instead of any "Earth-made" ones?
