What Should Never Had Been

I'm kinda glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I enjoyed parts of the film, but it kinda lives and dies on the page.

I agree about Watchmen as well. The problem is the material is too dense without enough action. Plus there's almost no plot to speak of till the third act. It's just setup, setup, setup, oh wait! This guy is trying to destroy the world! Where'd that come from, I was still trying to erase the image of the naked blue g----Damn it! There he is again, why can't he wear some pants!

The book is all right, not nearly as good as people claim it to be, it just doesn't work as a movie because there's too much going on and not enough of it is action.

Pretty much sums up how I feel about the prequels in general.
It also sums up how I feel about Indiana Jones 4.

I'd actually say that Indiana Jones 4 wasn't unnecessary though. I think it was a huge missed opportunity. One of the keys to Indy's appeal was that he was fully capable of getting seriously hurt. He gets really hurt frequently and thoroughly. So the idea of taking that character and throwing him back into the action way past his prime was something I was really interested in. How interesting would that movie have been? Indiana Jones can barely fight anymore, and now he's up against a challenge unlike anything he's ever seen. I would pay to see that movie. But we didn't get that. He actually gets hurt less in the new movie than he did in the earlier ones.

As for the movie we got instead? I didn't even think it was that bad. It was just kinda.... eh. The aliens didn't bug me, nor did the nuking of the fridge, nor did Shia swinging from vine to vine with his monkey brethren. My problem was that the story was lousy.

and many many more that I cant think of.

I liked my Where's Waldo example but can't see why someone would put a bad sequel. That's kind of going against the grain of the thread.

Finally! Someone other than myself who actually read the opening post. Badly made sequels, or ariginal works that were just really badly made, are not relevant on this thread. Those crappy "(Enter Line Here) Movie" spoof movies are debatable, as they are based on a source material which often includes books, comics, TV shows, etc. But including movies just because they are poorly executed or you dislike the subject matter belongs on another thread

Dungeons & Dragons

Not so much because of the source material doesn't translate well to the big screen. In the hands of a competant writer and director it can. This movie was just so poorly executed it failed on almost every level. Had they spent the money that they wasted on all that unnecessary CGI, used practical effects instead, and devoted more money towards having a decent script written, it would have been a whole lot better.

Godzilla 1998
Daredevil
Electra
X-Men I-III (Sorry the trilogy absolutely sucked!)
Jurassic Park III
Star Wars Prequel Trilogy
Star Trek XI
Star Trek Generations
Minority Report
Disney Tinkerbell movies
Jaws: The Revenge
Deep Blue Sea
Piranhas 3D
Rambo V
Tomb Raider series

Wrong.

You must be thinking of Rocky V.

No I am talking about the poorly written film about a 60+ old fart trying to get back in the ring and see if he's still got it while trying to reconnect with the kid he never spent time with.

The Wrestler did that story sooo much better.

Rock V sucked too though.

All of the graphic novel failures that DC put out like Watchmen, Constantine etc.

All the failure SH movies DC put out like Catwoman, Steel, Superwoman

Trash Marvel put out like Fantasic Four, Elektra, or anything else from Fox.

Bryan Singer's DonnerMan Returns

I guess we saw a completely different film then.

Yeah, I saw the one where Sylvester Stallone slurs his speech delivering a series of cliched monologues while Milo Ventimlia stares at him like some dumb sad mongoloid.

Oh my god, I had forgotten about the Constantine movie completely.

I agree with Terminator 3.

Diamonds are Forever with Sean Connery.

Rocky V

There's a huge difference though. Rhodes personal life was falling apart and Rocky's was more about building it up.

i enjoyed the film, but i feel that the graphic novel would have been better adapted into an hbo television series.

Dragonall Revolution
The Last Airbender
Jonny Quest
The Smurfs
Wolverine

DragonBall (I still think that a good adaption could be made but hollywood isn't brave enough to do one the way it should be done so it shouldn't have been made)

Wolverine (What was the point of Wolverine having his own film when he was the star of the first 3 X-films? I thought you make spinoffs about side characters not the main one)

Most videogame movies (SuperMario brothers is a b**ch'in game series and I love it to death but a good movie can not be made of it. Period)

GhostRider (Does every lame 3rd rate comicbook character deserve a movie? No. GhostRider as an idea is silly and sucks to me and it should have never been made into a movie, plus the movie was awful beyond words)

Spider-Man 3 without Sam Raimi (He should have left when Sony and Avi Arad started taking over)

Wolverine could have been a good movie if they A) Made it longer. B) Gave it a better rating. Besides Punisher and a few other, Wolverine is one of Marvels most violent character. It should have gotten an R just for violence. And C) Actually thought about the first X-Men movie. It was like they didn't even consider it all.
