Homecoming What tone should the movie aim for?

I want it to feel like the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon.

Ya humor I don't think we need to worry about with mcu. We need to balance light and fun with some serious stuff. But don't go one way or the other.

When they get into Spider-Man confronting major villains have him quip 2-3 times during a fight. One opener, then get serious and in the middle of the fight a quip based on whether he's loosing or winning, then at the end if he looses or wins you can have a victory quip or choose to leave it on a serious note if he's incredibly injured from the battle(which he probably will be).

First, I don't think ASM1 was 'dark and gritty'. The highschool fight with Lizard was the most upbeat, lighthearted action sequence I can think of. Lizard wasn't intimidating, he was a joke. The fight itself was littered with jokes, from webbing Lizard's mouth to the Stan Lee cameo.

Second, a good Spider-man movie should have a variety of tones. When appropriate, there should be comedy, horror, tragedy, suspense, romance, drama etc. Parker/spider-man needs to be isolated to a degree, and secretive because of his identity. He should have an air of introversion and loneliness, he talks to himself a lot, he spends a lot of time alone in contemplation. He's pessimistic and complains a lot, yet he has a sarcastic wit and sense of humor which he uses to make light of serious situations. He can be arrogant, he'll compliment and promote himself shamelessly but he's also a very guilty person who tortures himself over his mistakes.

Iron Man's tone is less cheesy than Raimi but more fun.

For me I just want to see a right balance if everything.

Yup but I am sure marvel will get to be and all that right.
