I'd probably rank the Raimi suit, TASM2 suit and the CW/HC suit about equally. All very faithful and satisfying but there are still minor things, that I would change on all three. Minor stuff, though.

I still think the definitive Spider-Man suit has yet to be made. Like Deadpool's for instance. That's one costume that's 100% perfect IMO and even if I tried, I couldn't find a single thing I would want changed. It achieves the ultimate balance of comic accuracy and cinematic bliss.

Also, I probably would have grouped Raimi's suit as one option on the poll. With the exception of a few minor modifications (mostly between the first and second film), It's basically the same suit, throughout the trilogy.

Yeah, I definitely agree with Scarlet on the definitive Spider-Man suit having yet to come to fruition.

I think the CW outfit is damn close. Remove the black parts and the thin blue lines and boom, that's the Romita outfit come to life.

As a poster who was on these boards to discuss the unveiling of the Tobey Maguire suit back in 2001, I can honestly say I think the suits have improved from film to film. ANd now the Holland version looks very Ditko/Romita.

However....this is perfection for me:

Amazing spiderman 2- Rami- Civial war

Amazing spiderman 1:barf:

Amazing spiderman 2 costume is just about perfect. The only thing that keeps it from being perfect is that the symbol on the front is up a little to high and the symbol on the back is not the tick looking one. Just move the symbol on the front down a little and give him the tick thing on the back and its perfect.

Spiderman 1-3 is great has it looks a lot like the amazing spiderman 2 one but I don't like the eyes has much.

Civial war one I don't like that it dosnt have rased webbing. Unrased webbing just dosnt work. Makes things look to flat.

Amazing spiderman 1 is just garbag the worst by far. It looks to much like a basketball and the way the red and blue connect on the costume is just not good.

Comparison time!

That ASM2 suit is nearly perfect...but my heart belongs to ASM1 suit oddly enough.

The ASM1 suit has a lot of interesting design choices. It doesn't look too great in (most) stills, but it looked awesome in motion.

The ASM2 suit is my favorite (mostly for the eyes...so beautiful), but I would have liked to have seen some of the ASM1 sensibilities carry over to it.

ASM2 and SM2 were incredible. They always get it right on the second try with Spidey costumes. So maybe the sequel to Spidey Homecoming will look much better....lol jk. It looks fantabulistic all by itself.

Too bad I'm serious. :o

The more I consider the matter, the more I like how the current costume *doesn't* have a ton of surface texturing, like the plastic-y "webs" on all the prior iterations. Its unnecessary intricacy that detracts from the "a kid made this" sense.

I'm surprised to see the tide turning. I'm here to love back to the current MCU Spidey costume.

Yeah, I think they should leave well enough alone and not make unnecessary chages. But as Harry said...

One thing that make the MCU suit miles better:

That mask, particularly those eyes is Spidey straight out of the comics! Love those Romita lenses! And I have warmed up to the changes and it definitely fits in the MCU.

Next I'd say ASM2 costume, which is really the ONLY thing from the ASM franchise I liked. My only nitpick is I would prefer thicker rims on the eyes.

The Raimi costume was faithful and served it's purpose. But I didn't care for the lenses because I never liked them that angular.

I hate the ASM costume.

So I say:

MCU Civil War/Homecoming

ASM2

Raimi costume

My biggest beef with the Raimi suit was that the blue looked gray in some shots. The silver webbing wasn't ideal either.

A richer shade of blue and black webbing, and it's perfect. But even as it is, it's still one of the best superhero costumes ever put on screen, and certainly the best Spider-Man costume in my book.

The suit looking gray may honestly be your tv. If it look greyish in a very bright shot..........come on that's being petty.

Love the silver webbing. That just pops out. I never ever think basketball.

In all honesty Raimi got it right the first time and ever since they've been trying to improve on perfection. But like the artists, different stroke for different folks. Some people love the raised webbing. Others want it flat. Others want it to sink into the suit. Some want texture, others want no texture.

Some folks are obsessed with having a suit that looks homemade, that some teen could make it.

I hate this argument, We see fans make the movie suits. The internet has really helped out in getting stuff made. All it takes is a plan and patience.

those suits take thousands of dollars and hours of work though so that argument pretty much supports that a teen couldn't make it on his own.

Those high quality cosplay costumes do NOT cost that much to make. A few hundred at most, and that's if you hire professionals to handle dyeing and other labor intensive things.

I honestly don't want to see a movie suit that a poor kid could make. These are big budget films. I want to see a GOOD looking suit. If I want to see a cheap spider-man costume, I'll go to a convention.

Right. You've got to be willing to suspend your disbelief a little bit.

I don't have an absolute favorite among these, I do favor certain aspects from each.
Color scheme: MCU and TASM
Web pattern: Tie for the rest of the costume (except TASM1), a win for MCU in the mask.
Lenses: MCU, followed closely by TASM2.
Red & blue distribution: between TASM2 and Raimi suit there's a tie, but for the arms I prefer the more Romita-esque thin strand of red TASM2 costume has, as opposed to the more Ditko-esque thick line the Raimi suits have.
Chest and back logos: Raimi's Spider-Man 2 & 3 win that for me.

Spider-Man 2/3 (What's the difference?)
MCU
The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Everything in the ASM franchise gets **** on. :funny:

Hey, I like the ASM2 costume! :oldrazz:
