What version of Doctor Doom do you want to see?

Victoria-Von-Doom.jpg

va-va-va doom!

Hmm... I could definitely see them throwing in a love triangle between the three.

I could also see them making Doom a corporate CEO once again. It seems like they're trying to break stereotypes with this film, and putting a female in charge of corporation would be a decent way of doing that.

Ummm... no they are obviously trying to break my heart with this film.... and succeeding.

What version you asked?

Why the female one of course!

* runs away*

1. Victor Von Doom and not Lucia Von Bardas
2. Only scarred on one side of his face but wears the mask anyway
3. More advanced armor than his comics counterpart
4. Latveria needs to be portrayed as a very rich and advanced country that the audience will be in awe at.
5. Tie Latveria's origin into the Yugoslav wars.
6. Allow Doom to have some humanity. He may be trying to kill the heroes but he isn't without honor.
7. Save him for the sequel. Mention Latveria existing but not much else.
8. Don't kill him off in the sequel. Allow him to be forced to work with the Fantastic Four when Galactus shows up.

i'm very much warming up to this idea of She-Doom. it'd be a shame to not go that route.

Oh god..now there's THREE of us that wanna see this happen...

Should we start a support group?

:woot:

the hardest part is casting the right woman. i mean she should be in the same age range as Teller, right?

In keeping with the Casting thus far, it will probably be a 64 year old Hawaiian.

Margarita Leviava from 'revenge'

She's older but she looks alot younger than her age.and she's Russian!

Nice eyes. I can picture her lowering the mask and it being a face full of billy bob teeth.

if she were older, i'd say Isabelle Fuhrman could convincibly portray a child prodigy with...issues.

the horrid F4 casting aside, how can any SANE person who even remotely likes the F4 history and Doom, even want Fox to go the female Doom route? The single greatest villain in the history of comicdom, the favorite of Stan Lee's, the inspiration for Darth Vader, reduced to a joke....I'm sorry, I still can't support this project in any shape or form...it just hurts too much to see the F4 and Doom get the crap treatment when MCU/Disney is kicking butt with inspired castings and mostly incredible adaptations.

why does being female make Doom a joke?

Cause anything other than VICTOR VON DOOM, the ego maniacal MAN who has goals of universal conquest, the things he would do to appease his God-like mentality, is considered a joke, any deviation from the comic book character, the one character who needs to be translated verbatim...

are you joking or serious?

Transplanting Doom's character into a woman doesn't only radically alter the context and dynamic of the character in itself, but also his relationships with his archenemies, especially Reed and Sue. Like I said in the other thread, it'd be a bizarre mix of Elementary's Moriarty and Berg Katse from the live action Gatchaman.

I think it would make Doom a joke. The last version of Doom we had in film is already a joke. Making him female would certainly become one.

how?

no. it'd be a female with Doom's character traits.

Because not only do most of Doom's character traits work differently (and consequently result in a different character entirely) when applied to a woman as they would when applied to a male (much less a male like Doom), some of them aren't applicable at all, like Doom's brand of egocentrism and chauvinism.

It's like comparing Tywin Lannister to Olenna Redwyne.

Doom's rivalry with Reed plays out differently if the former was a woman. A female Doom wouldn't treat Sue the same as the male one did (well, she could TRY, but then it'd just be... odd).

no. it'd be a female with Doom's character traits.
Which wouldn't make that character Doom. Hell, another male with Doom's character traits wouldn't be Doom.

The only thing that would make lesser sense than a female Doom is a female Namor.
