The Amazing Spider-Man What villain or villains would you like to see them kick start the reboot with? Part

One thing I'm curious about is how long into the film will D.r Connors turn into the Lizard? I'm guessing not too long in the film. We'lll probably see him a few times before working with a serum, etc.

Good question, I'm guessing around the same amount of time it to Norman Osborn to become Green Goblin in the first Spider-Man movie. That's a pretty reasonable amount of time to show Dr. Connor working on the serum and Peter learning about his Spider powers.

Pst, it's Goblin:yay::woot:

All I want is a decent Kraven story. I'll be a happy man then.

Man they could make his story so EPIC, and imagine how badass the fight scene with him and Spidey would be in a jungle type area.

I prefer Spidey fight in the "concrete" jungles of NYC.

It would be interesting to see them go the night of the lizard route, where Connors was already the lizard.

Since it appears likely that the Lizard will be the main villain in the first movie of the Reboot, I wonder if a) they will do the Origin or b) have a minor villain to fill out the first act while Dr. Connors is established... or c) they will go directly into Dr. Connors experimenting on the regrowth and quickly have the Lizard born, without a need for the first act filler.

Pros and Cons in any of these approaches IMO.

a) origin, been done before. But I would still love to see it done again, and better this time. Uncle Ben's death felt too PG for my liking, and as such.. lacked real impact. But to have the proper impact they need to utilize an actor of Martin Sheen's ability. If they go this route, I expect Uncle Ben and Aunt May's characters to be fleshed out more in flashbacks.

b) minor villain to fill out Act one. Pro - We get to see one of Spidey's lower level villains come to life on the screen. Like Rhino or Shocker. Always a plus, but (Con) with the limited budget (CGI included) I kind of doubt this, and would rather see them spend the money on getting the Lizard "right". Also, it would take away from the story/character development of the main players too.

c) Directly to Connors experimenting and transforming to the Lizard early on. Pro - If they handle it as a mystery and build the tension before the "money shot" of the Lizard this could be good. It would highten the suspense and help with the budget limitations as well. Con - It would mean little development of the bond between Peter and Dr. Connors, although they could flesh this out via flashbacks and interactions with the Connors clan and Peter after the fact.

It's gonna be interesting.. NO DOUBT.

It's hard to decide which is the better approch IMO.

It's kind of funny that everyone is talking about the lizard like it will 100% surely be the villain even thou it's not even officially confirmed
well, it's still most likely, but even thou I have waited the lizard for a long time, somehow I would prefer a surprise villain

I've been wanting Lizard to be in a Spider-Man film since the first one, so I'm excited that he's even being considered.

That would be cool, though I don't see that happening if Peter and Gwen's teach is Dr. Connors himself. We'd probably see some sort of buildup.

If the first movie shows Peter's parents as spies, then havibg Chameleon in the movie would fit quite well since he is like a spy as well.

Oh God.. No.. just No... :wow::doh: Spies, Chameleon... Wayyyy too Missioniy Impossiblishy for me.

This is Spider-Man, not James Bond.

I personally would prefer them to do the build up, and have that connection between Peter and Conners and their relationship, especially if they are going to have Peter be Conners intern.

Would be definitely interesting, but I think it still wouldn't work because that route Connors propably wouldn't get enough character development

That's one of the main differences with movies and tv series, in tv series the characters don't need that much character development, but in movies a lot of character development one of the most important things

Personally, I thought Mysterio had a lot of potential for a first movie especially in 3D. He has so much potential for epic sets, and fx, I always imagined he would stage an alien invasion and lure spidey into his lair which was this huge funland type place that was all trippy. This gives a lot of room to build up relationships and develop other characters. Then Lizard and Kraven would be an epic sequel all leading to GG in the third with the death of Gwen.

Could someone explain the appeal of the Lizard as a villain to me in 1 or 2 sentences. I just don't see any:huh:

I would acctually love to see the Goblin (done right) or Vulture as villain.

The Lizard is a classic that has never been used, and a fan favourite. The fact that he's also Curt Conners, Peter's friend, just adds to this.

That was two sentences.

Okay I had that on my screen already but I don't think he makes for an innovative villain based on these points:o We'll see.

Doesn't it? Totally adds that extra bit of spite to a post and suddenly makes it relevant.. But not.
