Sure, Spelberg changing the guns to walkie-talkies was kinda annoying, but aside from a few changes here and there, it's still the same movie. And it's a great movie too.:yay:

I like E.T. as much as the next guy but the walkie talkie thing is just insanely stupid and pointless and the "new" scenes with the new digital effects stick out liek a sore thumb like they do in the re-relese of the star wars trilogy.

Yeah, it was pointless, but so what? It's still the same movie. The SFX in the original weren't that greet either...

I've also never understood the hate for the SW re-release. Why would I want to watch a version of a movie with crappy SFX rather than the version with halfway decent SFX?

I feel exactly the same way...

that's why I watch the originals instead of the re-release.

I am starting to wonder about you people that think placing obvious CGI effects in 30 year old films is a good thing. I mean, most CGI already stands out pretty badly, but when it's done to something created during a time when the effects obviously didn't exist it just ends up looking downright hokey.

they replaced guns with walkie talkies ...thats lame
