Comics What was the last 616 Spidey story...

The whole Sensational Spider-Man run so far I've enjoyed greatly. And hell, even FNSM has been at least minorly enjoyable. It's just ASM that's been tapdancing between mediocre and downright bad the last few years...

im in the middle of reading maximum carnage and the art is horrible. there's even stupid little things like its supposed to be night, switch to spider-man heading towards nightclub and theres a blue sky and clouds overhead ?? weird. also just read death in the family, from peter parker spider-man. its alright... i guess.

I <3 maximum carnage

Mainly because..thats just how I am, loving things most people dislike :-(

Mark Millar's run on Marvel Knights. The only things I didn't like were Ock's characterization and the dumb conclusion to the Ock and Goblin battle.

Millar's run on MK has to be the best thing i've read in the 616 in a couple years. Although, as i've pointed out before, it would have been cooler if Reilly was the kidnapper (and the new Venom) instead of lame ol' Macgargan.

The Spidey/Human Torch teamup was pretty nifty too.

MKSM and Hydra were both pretty sweet. But both suffered from terrible lackluster endings. WTF was up with Ock seemingly breaking free of his captors with a plan needing legs, and than the next issue showing up, brainwashed and drugged. Oh, not to mention the lightning bolt that interupted the villain fight that we had been waiting to see. Hydra's fault was quickly turning the entire final part into a prelude for the worst comic book story of all time. "Hydra? Oh don't worry about them Pete, we caught them off panel"

Spidey/Human Torch by Slott

Did anyone else enjoy ASM:Happy Birthday by JMS?I bought the trade and thought it was a nice change of pace/reflective story.

The CW tie-ins starting with 532 have been great emotional reads.

I love Millar, but I always hear mixed things about his MK run.I hear there are alot of plot holes and satisfactory conclusions, hence the reason I always hesitate to buy it.

Paul Jenkins "A Death in the Family", "Countdown", and his Venom arc.

His story with Ock and Fusion was good as well. It was one of those things that pisses you off at first, with Ock being "controlled" by a lesser villian, until you realize who the real puppet is. One of Ock's better moments.

The "Happy Birthday" arc leading into Issue 500

Millars MKSM run was enjoyable as well.

I mentioned that earlier, what a pisser of an ending....a great battle, as opposed to the "Other" prelude, in the last issue would have made a great arc, a classic one..IMO

What he said! :)

Miller's MK Spider-Man

Spider-Man: Blue

The current Civil war tie-in arcs in Amazing have been really good

Either the Spider-mobile issue of Spider-man/Human Torch or, if you're willing to expand the time span to the last 2 years, the issue of She-Hulk where he sues Jameson. And of course, his explaination as to why Jameson really hates him (Hee!).

I haven't read the first arc in Millar's run on MK:S, but I've looked around and people always talk about Electro's major power upgrade without ACTUALLY saying what it is (i.e. details). Can someone PLEASE tell me exactly what they are?

I remember a few years back he had himself strapped into an electric chair & zapped w/the juice on full; afterwards he WAS a lot more powerful. That's the only power upgrade I know of.
