Comics What was the last 616 Spidey story...

Mark Millers run on MKSM.

I mean I know it wasn't perfect and had some faults.

But it was just a flat out fun read filled with emotion and beautiful artwork. Easily the last 616 Spider-man that I really enjoyed.

There have been some other good ones since then but that's the one that stands out. Maybe it stands out more because the book got so god awful once he left.

Most part of the Other.....mainly the ones with Deodato and David!

Oh and...Millar's run was great!

The Hydra arc was good as well.

My only real problem w/that MK story arc was the whole Venom factor. Turning Mac Gargan into Venom is like making Lex Luthor Brainiac.

hm yes...Gragan is no mental case like Brock was.

The 'Feral' arc that was just in 'Sensational Spider-Man'. Dispite the crappiness that is the Iron Spidey suit, it was a pretty good story.

I liked Feral, but I think I liked it more because of how much bad was going on with Spidey at the time.......ie I would have considered "Feral" average at best if the other books were firing on all cylinders...hence I think "Feral" was made to look a whole lot better to me because of comparison.

The last 616 story I really enjoyed was undoubtedly "Hydra"....the story is strong no matter what you compare it to..

The Hydra arc was great...

... and that recent issue of Sensational with Ock flipping out was terrific.

:)

second part of the latest FNSM arc, FNSM 9. also enjoy all the civil war spin-off stuff after the unmasking. it's been handled well

I honestly can't remember. I've been iffy about 616 Spidey for a couple of years now, and nowadays I just plain hate it.

but last time I remember truly enjoying the character was the first few arcs by JMS. I loved the whole Peter as a teacher scenario.

My list:

-MKSM 1-12

-Spider-Man/Human Torch: I'm With Stupid

-I (heart) Marvel: Web of Romance

-Sensational Spider-Man #28

-Hydra Arc

-ASM#533 (a good issue by JMS....a rarity nowadays)

True, except...
Ock HAD to know he was dealing w/a young Spidey.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAnd-he learned Spidey's identity once before & didn't freak out.

What issues encompass the Hydra arc? Every one keeps commenting on how good it was, maybe I should check it out...

ASM 519- 524.....immediately after the Skin Deep arc......524 was a bit of a let down as it was mostly set up for
"The Other"
....other than that...great read

Gonna agree with the majority on this one.... the Hydra arc in Amazing, and Millar's MKSM --- even though it was flawed, it was still classic Spidey.

I'm actually enjoying Civil War.

Wow, I guess I've been out of it longer than I thought, but I can't say I read any of the above mentioned arcs.

I am enjoying Civil War which has sucked me back in.

Before that, hmmmm I can say the last one that I thouroughly enjoyed was Hmmmm Maybe Maximum Carnage. Or Kraven't last Hunt.

Spider-Man/Human Torch - I'm With Stupid

Civil War has its good points, but I'm concerned about the long run.

Thus far I am as well....I didn't pick it because

1/ Didn't really consider it a Spidey book
2/ It aint over "yet"!!

I actually liked Sins Past after reading the first issue!!...if you see my point

im in the middle of reading maximum carnage and the art is horrible. there's even stupid little things like its supposed to be night, switch to spider-man heading towards nightclub and theres a blue sky and clouds overhead ?? weird. also just read death in the family, from peter parker spider-man. its alright... i guess.

Millars run was cool as was JMS's first few stories. I also loved Mackie's story with Mysterio kidnapping al the people closes to Spidey and when the Goblin tried to turn Peter

Sensational Spider-Man #28.

It was so good to see Ock back again, even if it was under the unmasking circumstances. And his reaction to Spidey's identity was pure gold.
