Peppermint

Ill-timed aside, this is basically a direct to video movie that got a theatrical release. It's essentially the female Punisher with some Batman-like mythos sprinkled towards the end. There's a lot of predictable plot twists and motivations that you've seen many times before. I will say Jennifer Garner was trying to give this movie some life, but it wasn't enough. The best thing about this has to be the action, because it's straight up some Call of Duty level violence. Outside of that, the movie is a dud.

Night School

I'm actually kinda shocked Malcolm D. Lee directed this even though he's directed crap a couple times before. It's so horribly lazy direction wise and awfully put together, you'd think this was made in one week. It's yet another comedy that relies solely on ad-libbing and low hanging fruit. Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish do the same ol shtick. And the rest of the cast is either underdeveloped or misused. The only laughs I had was the awkward moments and laughing at the filmmaking. Overall, it's turrible turrible.

The House with a Clock in Its Walls

Shockingly well done. Who knew Eli Roth making a PG kids movie would be one of his best films. This actually feels like if Tim Burton from the 90s made a Nickelodeon movie. I thought Jack Black and Cate Blanchett were easily the best part about the movie, their chemistry was really good. I really dug the sets and attention to detail when it comes to old school horror and magic. I will say the story is predictable but they do it a fun way. Overall, it's a nice surprise by Eli Roth.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

Smooth and efficient for the most part but gets dragged down by an awful script.

the 1986 Transformers movie on the big screen for the first time ever for me with a theater full of fellow Transformers fan loving EVERY minute of it!
I'm not into Transformers but that does sound like a great time :) Glad you enjoyed it

It's always great seeing classics with like minded individuals in theater. And The Room.

yeah they had transformers t shirts and they had a special slide show before the show doing trivia questions and people shouting out the answers it was MOST fun possibly the most fun I had in a theater since I saw the back to back to back screening of all three BTTF films back in 2015
