What would getting to be friends with a real superhero mean to you?

I don't remember that being in the oath of Green Lantern.

But it does say "no evil shall escape my sight."

Dude likes to watch.

What I do is beautiful and pure.

Green Lantern could make green constructs of celebrity women for me to have sex with.

You have to be careful which Green Lantern you wind up with. Remember that Alan Scott's powers cannot affect wood.

Having a superhero friend is a great way to boost my insecurities.

Me: "Hey Clark, what did you do today"

Superman: "Save Metropolis from Brainiac's giant robot invasion, later I have to receive the key to the city with the Justice League, how about you?"

Me: "I, um, played Mario Kart then ordered a pizza but they put the wrong topping on so I didn't have to pay!"

Superman: "..."

I often times wonder if something like Kick-Ass could actually happen in today's world? Obviously, lots of people would get seriously injured or even killed, but would there actually be successful vigilantes? Would it really make a difference in crime riddled cities? Sure, its illegal and everything but if it had positive results how would law enforcement and the government respond?

Here's are the different ways it would play out in real life:

1) "Hero" gets killed or maimed in his first or second battle

2) "Hero" gets arrested in his second, third or fourth battle

3) By the fourth battle, the "hero" would have killed or injured an innocent person, or at best caused an escalation leading to the killing or injuring of an innocent person that would not otherwise have occured if they hadn't tried to intervene in the first place

A better question is, how would a supervillain be born? And what if i befriended a supervillain without even knowing it?

Then you wouldn't know it...just like you don't know about a lot of things that you don't know.

Screw it, I'm just going to come out with it. I'm a real superhero. It's looking I'm likely Neo from The Matrix.

I know this may be hard to believe, but consider this. Neo used computers a lot and was really into martial arts. I use computers a lot and am really into martial arts. The similarities boggle the mind! I'm still awaiting the day I scare the Buhjesus out of Cypher though.

Not sure exactly what I was expecting on here. I don't have a single friend besides my girlfriend trinity and my dogs. I guess an exciting friend (or multiple) was the ideal goal. Someone very excited to be friends with Neo from The Matrix is a must. They must be a good ethical person. Someone with enough financial freedom to be able to move near me and get a house together would be cool. If you have a fun car or means to get one, that would be awesome. People to practice martial art skills with and grow together with, including working hard on fitness, would be great. Someone with enough freedom to invest lots of time in superhero efforts to help the world excites me too.

You guys amaze me with all your superhero comic knowledge. These days I basically just watch the big comic superhero movies, but as a kid was into collecting comics and cards. I'm a bit scared wondering what I could be getting myself into here and think back to recently seeing a trending hashtag on Twitter like #MyRoommateIsWeird. Surely nobody on this forum would be weird lol. As far as blabbing my secret identity, don't worry because Neo didn't hide being a superhero.

Does anyone believe there's a significant chance I'm Neo from The Matrix?

Unless this superhero friend is a scientist and can give me powers also, or can build me an awesome suit like theirs, then it really wouldn't matter.

Lots of people are good with computers and know martial arts.

Can you fly? Can you stop bullets with your mind?

I'll be Superman's best friend only if I get to be Batman.
