What would the founding fathers think of Bush and his administration?

Mainly Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Adams, and Alexander Hamilton.

would most approve or disapprove? Give ratios (example: 4/6 would approve) or give explanations of who would approve and why.

I'll hop in my time machine and go ask them.

John Hancock to blind_fury: Who is this Bush you speak of thy annoying negro?

John Adams: Let's go grab a beer

Franklin: I'll drive

They owned slaves.

They couldn't afford to split the union with abolition at the time. You might as well hand over the country to Britain on a silver platter.

Benjamin Franklin was a vocal abolitionist to a certain degree. This was considered political suicide at the time.

They owned slaves.

Not all of them.

55 delegates were in the United States Constitution Convention.

12 of them owned or managed slave-operated plantations or large farms: Richard Bassett, John Blair, William Blount, Pierce Butler, Daniel Carroll, Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer, George Mason, Charles Pinckney, Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, John Rutledge, Richard Dobbs Spaight, and George Washington. James Madison also owned slaves as did Benjamin Franklin who later freed his slaves and became an abolitionist.

To be honest, I don't know. The founding father enacted many unconstutional laws in their days, yet felt it was best to stay out of the affairs of the other continents and remain neutral in those affairs.

I can't say, really.

If I could show them the future on my ipod they wouldn't care if I was black, green, or purple.

Franklin and Jefferson especially.

They'd be like "If I knew this would happen, I would've just gone to Canada"

They probably made those laws before THEY MADE THE CONSTITUTION. :o

No, they did so way after it was written. Alien & Sedition Acts anyone?

They were women oppressing, slave owning, gay hating, religious fanatic, Indian murderers who believed in Manifest Destiny.

Who cares what they thought? They came from a primitive time, and could never begin to understand our world.

They would turn in their graves,if they knew what Bush was doing to the country they helped create.

Since they were probably more conservative than we are as a whole, some things they'd agree with, other things they wouldn't.

I voted disapprove, but I'm starting to think who cares.

You can't say that for guys like Franklin, he was one of the first liberals.

People who care about America's founding principles and how they're being perverted by leaders who shroud themselves in the American flag?

I disagree with the Bush administration, but my judgement is not swayed out of any obligation to agree with the founding fathers on anything. Their opinions don't control my opinions. I can think for myself. I dont' have to believe something just because they did. And the founding fathers were wrong on a ****load of crap.

Bush might be an idiot, but at least he doesn't go out to his ranch and whip a bunch of field slaves. I hate Bush, but his values aren't nearly as disgusting as many of the values cherished by the founding fathers.

You know what they would do to me and you for being atheists? They'd hang us.

No, they wouldn't.

Franklin and Jefferson would certainly not apporve of Bush. Heck, Jefferson, despite having immense respect for Jesus Christ and his teachings, was about extremely critical of the Christian religion.
