Something tells me most of you would want to change a lot. :hehe:

So voice your opinions.

More Oa scenes. Better pacing/dialogue.

That's really it. Acting/Effects were fine to me. I enjoyed the film quite more after the second viewing.

I wouldn't change anything, but I'd expand on a lot of things. Such as much more one on one character moments between Hal and Sinestro. Some more Oa scenes, and perhaps some Guardians coming back to Earth with Hal. This stuff may have not been because of the FX budget. Otherwise everything would be the "same" just more fleshed out.

-Toss in more cosmic stuff (Oa).
-Make the movie a bit more faithful.
-Make Hal's victory against Parallax stronger.
-Adjust some of the dialog.
-Give particular Green Lanterns more screen time (anyone who isn't Hal, Sinestro, Tomar-Re,
Abin Sur, and Kilowog).
-Change the scene where Parallax talks while Hal isn't around it.

A much better script. More emotion added. More story for Hal and his childhood/the death of his father. More Oa. More of Hal's training. A better Parallax. Make Hector seem more formidable instead of being Parallax's *****.

The two things that I didn't mind that others had problems with were Hal being the only Lantern on Earth and Sinestro getting the yellow ring, although I would have made two adjustments with those: ONLY Sinestro comes to rescue Hal in the end and gives us more of a two-sided story of Sinestro actually being supportive of Hal and making us, the viewers, think Hal proved Sinestro wrong, but then while Sinestro takes the yellow ring, he leaves to hide the yellow ring away only for himself so he can slowly take in the new ring's power.

More epic score.
More GL Corps, Oa screen time.
More polished CGI for the Guardians, or have actors with practical effects + CGI. (because they looked cartoonish)
Keep the insect looking parallax instead of the cloud. It would have seemed scarier imo.

I think maybe if they would have mixed certain elements of First Flight with certain elements of this movie, it would have been epic. Save the ending of First Flight for GL 2 maybe.

Less unnecessary profanity....there was no reason for it.

Rewrite the whole thing without his friend Tom.

Would have cut down cheesy lines, dead weight, and sharpened emphasis on Hal and Carol. The only time he was necessary was to give Hal a ride away from the crash site, and that could've been an easy re-write.

glc fighting parallax in space while hal comes up with the clutch save.

less earth more oa, no hammond, he just looked to cheesy and i didn't care about him at all.

- Better cinematography. The CGI was beautiful, but a lot of the camera angles looked like something out of a bad 70s made for tv movie. You don't spend 200 Million dollars on a movie and allow it to have cluttered camera work and terrible editing.

- Better script. No "emotional" moment in the movie felt earned. It felt phoned in and plastic. There's no reason that GL can't have legitimate emotion.

-Atrocittus instead of Hector Hammond. Build up to either Darkest Night or Parallax...doesn't matter either way....this movie needed to start small and grow into a gigantic threat.

- No Parallax. Way too big of a villain to waste on the first GL movie. Every superhero has their arch-rival and their super-boss villain (think Doomsday, Bane, etc.) Parallax should be built up gradually over several films...otherwise it's just a big fart cloud octopus instead of a legitimately frightening force.

- More of an adult focus...instead of Hal running home with his tail tucked between his legs from OA, show him trying to defend an entire sector and failing. Examine the character...find out what makes him tick.

- More time on OA. His relationship with Sinestro was incredibly poorly written, and they never make you care enough about their bond to care if Sinestro eventually betrays Hal and the corps.

More Corps, more Oa, an actual cosmic sense of scale.

It should have been "Training Day" meets "Men in Black." I don't mean that it should be a comedy, but that you could have a sci-fi police investigation during which the rookie discovers that his veteran partner does more harm than good.

To make room for more Sinestro, more Oa, and more time in space, I would cut Hector, cut Waller, cut Hal's family, and reduce Tom and Carol's roles. Undecided whether to keep Parallax as the major threat.

Within the movie that we actually got, I would cut the opening sequence entirely and keep everything on Earth until Hal goes to Oa. Abin Sur's last battle could be told in flashback, and all explanation of the Corps could be handled by Tomar Re.

Parallax wasn't that great at all, and OA and the other members of the GL Corp should have been fleshed out better.

Wat.

The cinematography was amazing! There were so many shots that literally made me say, "Wow!"

Add a scene where hal becomes parallax, kills the entire GL corps, then does a song and dance number with another woman to get back at Carol. Then Kyle shows up and stuffs him in a fridge. The fridge door opens up to reveal indiana jones.

We have a winner! :woot:

Ditch New Orleans and film it in San Diego as Coast City.

Realistically most superhero films have had pathetic endings in terms of battles so I'm going to be realistic and go against some sort of battle with the corps because that was never going to happen. I would just add in some more scenes to really establish the relationship between Hal and his father and his family and why he is such a disappointment to his mother. Also, a few more scenes with hector, either make him a creep that you don't like or make him sympathetic but choosing one and going with it.

This for sure. ^
I especially agree with the CGI looking too cartoony.

Have the first third of the film on Earth. Build Hal up as a character, HINT at his relationship with Carol, have more scenes with his family.

Then once he gets the ring and goes to Oa he should stay out there, in space, for the rest of the movie. Have him go through numerous training sessions. Show him grow and learn as a person, as he grows and learns as a Lantern. He starts off as a fearful rookie who is resented by Sinestro, but show him progress. Maybe even going out with other Lanterns to see how they do their things in their sectors. Maybe a fight scene with some strange alien or two. Show the relationship between him and Sinestro go from cold mentor/student, to genuine friendship by the end. Show Hal learning by himself that you don't have to be completely fearless. But being able to recognise fear, confront it, and defeat it. Have him learn that by himself as his time in space goes on, instead of having Carol spoon feed it to him.

Have the Manhunters be the big threat of the movie. With the grande finale an all out attack on Oa, where the rookies, including Hal, have to step up to fight.

- Either more or less Hector. Have him either as the supervillain, or not at all. Although he was presented well as a character, I don't think his actual role in the story had much weight to it

- More training scenes for Hal, and through that maybe more Hal & Sinestro screentime

- More response to the introduction of Green Lantern on Earth. Remember the crowds and news reports in Superman when he made his first public save? Green Lantern is a flying man with an energy ring, yet I got no sense of huge public wonder/curiosity about him.

- More OA scenes, showing more of the corps

- A more polished script

- Longer time on Oa for Hal's training and induction.

- Have the GLC assist Hal in defeating Parallax.

- More focus on Hal/Sinestro than Hal/Carol.

- More playing up of the epic nature of Green Lantern.
