If you could change something about the movie, would you and what would it be? More action? More characterization? More humor? Add scenes, delete scenes? Etc..

A couple of things that bugged me about the movie.
I would've ended the movie with the bruce strolling the highway trying to hitch a ride while the lonely man theme plays. I figured this was a no brainer and for me it would've been the perfect ending. I'm surprised they didn't go this route.

Editing wise, I didn't like how the stark cameo was saved for last. I think they should've had it play right after hulk escapes harlem. Then after the stark cameo we have banner running in the fields of british columbia, meditating and his eyes turn green, cut to black and roll credits. To me this would've been much more climactic. Ending with the stark scene was very anticlimactic. It didn't have any punch like bruce's eyes turning green. After all this is Hulk, not Iron Man. Save the main character for last.

Also, going by the description I would've left in the arctic suicide scene. It just sounds great and really lets you know where Bruce's state of mind is at.

There were NO leaping scenes at all, and i kinda feel that should've been shown how the Hulk got from place to place. Also, my main gripe was the Hulk's healing factory- it was too much like the tv show, where the Hulk would heal AFTER he changed back into Banner. And lastly, the Hulk was a tad weaker than the 2003 incarnation- which was cool, but not cool! Hulk's the strongest one there is!!

edit.....nevermind...i fixed my 1st post.

I would add the fins on the Abomination,

and I would change the ending where Banner actually trying to change at the end of he movie. I always liked the hero aspect of Banner, and him wanting to changer seems like a big risk.

I only have two complaints. One minor, one not so minor.

Minor
There was no obvisous declaration that the madder Hulk got, the stronger he got. I'm not a fan of the Hulk's size changing that was shown in the '03 film, but they did use that mechanism as a way to show him getting stronger. I didn't see a clear indication of this aspect of the Hulk's abilites in the movie...and to me his dynamic strength is something that makes him unique.
But hey..I can survive without that.

Now, not so minor
The Hulk is the manifestation of Banner's suppressed rage or torment. Bruce is the ultimate victim, and the Hulk's personality is the breaking free of that. The '03 film hammered on this by delving into his childhood trauma (which WAS part of the comics continuity)...maybe just a little much. Even the TV show set this up by showing Banner was tormented by the death of his wife, which was what drove his obsession with his research.
TIH is a reboot..OK, fine. But at no time does it touch on exactly what Hulk is beyond just being Banner transforming due to his Gamma exposure. To me, that's like Bruce Wayne becoming Batman, but without having witnessed his parents death. It removes a vital aspect of the character. It also makes you question why Blonsky can retain his personality and Banner can't? So the real question is, Why did they do a reboot if it not only didn't add anything, it was a lost opportunity to just build a better story based on what the first film had layed forth?
Overall, I liked the movie quite a bit. The action scenes were terrific, and the acting was great.but I still don't think I have seen the hulk on screen in all of his glory.

I'd lock Zak Penn in a SHEILD containment unit and give the project to a better writer.

ME TOO! I thought for sure they were going to do this. They kept harping on how this was influenced by the TV show, and that scene is so iconic, I don't know how they could skip it. I thought that was a no brainer too. In fact I only remember hearing the Lonely Man theme ONCE during the movie. That should have been a major theme for the movie.

I only hope that that the extra 70 minutes we will see on the DVD will alleviate some of the issues I have.

i don't see the big deal. i was just curious if fans would change anything and if so what they would change. it's not meant to be a review thread or a bashing thread so it shouldn't turn into one.

I did not like Doc Samson's involvement or the actor playing him very much. I did not even realize that that guy was him until after I read a posting on this board. I would have preferred that that guy have been just some random throwaway dude who had nothing to do with the whole Hulk mythos.

To be fair, he lost a couple of major scenes on the editing floor. It's difficult to assess his performance given the minimal screen time.

I'm sure someone will come in with something like "Keep Ang Lee, Keep Eric Bana". I know it's coming. I can feel it.:bh:

Anyway, I would have left the Samson/Banner chat in. How did Samson know Banner had been to Betty's house, or even who he was? The audience doesn't know.

my opinion is that since they never really said he was samson, they can still recast him if they choose to? in case his role becomes pivotal.
who knows

I know it was been impossible, but I would've like to see Rick Jones in this movie.

People are probably going to rail on me for this, but I thought the Abomination wasn't necessary for this film. They could've had Blonsky go for Round 3 with more of Ross' sonic cannons and some helicopter backup. The whole "empowerment" of [blackout]Sterns[/blackout] and Blonsky could've been left as a cliffhanger, rather than the scene with Bruce at the end. They could've stressed the connection between Hulk and the Super-Soldier project a little more, too.

What would I change?

-I'd have the original Gamma Bomb origin in the opening credits.

-Original Abomination origin and visual design.

-Rick Jones, Doc Samson too please.

Like I said in the fan review thread Marvel needs to stop hiring Zak Penn for their movies. I believe Norton saved the script from being a disaster.

I had only some very, very minor gripes:

1. Liv Tyler was so so in the role, she just couldn't deliver what little lines she had in a good way
2. Tim Roth was great except for when he was walking around with Hurt in his army uniform - he looked like he was walking into a bar
3. some of the hulk and betty scenes were a bit too king kong for me

outside of that I'm looking forward to the sequel

The scene where Banner is captured and taken aboard the military carrier. In the next scene of him, we see him sitting up in handcuffs. Seem like a pretty minor deterrent (the handcufs) against another possible Hulk out. Plus Ross seemed to buddy, buddy, with him when they were watching Abom on the monitors. I think some parts were cut from this scene.

I totally agree with everything you said! Hulk should have been shown doing more awesome feats of strength.

I'd change the editing of the movie, too many times it felt asif I'd missed something and it cut to a completely different scene, whomever did the editing did a poor job imo.

I would have changed Abominations beating streak on Hulk. Now he gave Hulk a good hard time, but to me, it ended a bit quick. So thats about it for me.

I would change leading ladies. I would have kept Jennifer Connelly. Liv Tyler is nice looking, but jennifer is just hot as hell. Remember her big milk cans in that Dennis Hopper directed movie, the hot spot? Damn!

Liv Tyler (left) and Jennifer Connelly played sisters in the 1997 film Inventing the Abbotts.

having Rick Jones in there somewhere other than on a slip of paper would have been nice...

I think I would agree Connelly is better as Liv Tyler but Liv Tyler was by no means close to bad in it.

I think I would have just shot the Norton version because the movie just seemed to have some lapses in it that I would bet Norton's version would have cleaned up

other than that great flick
