We didn't need the origin agsin in a reboot, but in the sequel I hope they allude to uncle ben and what happened to him.
You can easily get rid of the tech in the suit by saying that all the electric interference messes up his Spidey-Sense which is worth more to Peter than any fancy tech gizmo.
-No more Stark Suits
-More May/Peter interactions
-less wide eyed over enthusiasm
-Actual funny/witty banter during fights -Better fight scenes
-Better CGI
-More interesting HS characters
-No mentors
-Better score
-More mature & responsible Peter
-Spidey that actually knows what he's doing and doesn't screw everything up
-Uncle Ben's influence on him being a hero (great power & great responsibility, not 'OMG so exciting gotta impress Mr Stark yippee!!!!!')
-The real Mary Jane, not Michelle what's her face
-A villain worthy of being a follow up to Keaton (but isn't tied to Stark/another hero or Peter personally, and doesn't discover his secret identity)
-Final swing
-Peter building his own gadgets
-Kill the bloody AI, hated it in Homecoming
-More drama and heart
-The pressures & difficulties of maintaining a double life
-No more Stark Suits

Spider-Man needs to win a fight...not just survive a fight but win... AT LEAST with regular crooks.

All of this.
- Fix the bland MCU look. More color, well thought out/artistic costumes, cinematography, set design, etc
- Comic book accuracy: Need I say more... let's get the BEST Peter/Spider-Man ever. Supporting cast too
The CGI on the suit. It looked really fake most of the time.
Id also appreciate them de-emphasizing Peters naïveté. We get it. Hes a teenager and hes less experienced and mature than the other Avengers.
The marketing. From what I noticed, Homecoming is still a divisive film like the last two were. Difference now is instead of fans either loving or hating it, they either love it or find it decent and overrated.
Unlike ASM2 though, I attribute this to the marketing. I think a lot of the criticisms towards it (Peter using "awesome" every 5 seconds and clinging to Tony) aren't really in the film and were mostly things from the marketing that bled into the movie.
Seriously, I think we underestimate what a bad taste it left in the mouths of a good fraction of the population. I mean, we also had a poster that became a laughing stock on the internet. That's unheard of for a film as successful as Homecoming.
