Far From Home What would you like to see improved upon?

We didn't need the origin agsin in a reboot, but in the sequel I hope they allude to uncle ben and what happened to him.

-No more Stark Suits
-More May/Peter interactions
-less wide eyed over enthusiasm
-Actual funny/witty banter during fights -Better fight scenes
-Better CGI
-More interesting HS characters
-No mentors
-Better score
-More mature & responsible Peter
-Spidey that actually knows what he's doing and doesn't screw everything up
-Uncle Ben's influence on him being a hero (great power & great responsibility, not 'OMG so exciting gotta impress Mr Stark yippee!!!!!')
-The real Mary Jane, not Michelle what's her face
-A villain worthy of being a follow up to Keaton (but isn't tied to Stark/another hero or Peter personally, and doesn't discover his secret identity)
-Final swing
-Peter building his own gadgets
-Kill the bloody AI, hated it in Homecoming
-More drama and heart
-The pressures & difficulties of maintaining a double life

You can easily get rid of the tech in the suit by saying that all the electric interference messes up his Spidey-Sense which is worth more to Peter than any fancy tech gizmo.

Aloha,
That's a good angle. I think people are really missing the point here regarding the suit.Since Spidey was now coming into the MCU, his introduction had to fit in with what has been established. In Civil War the comics-Stark not only made the Iron Spider suit for Peter but MJ, aunt May and Peter were living in Avengers/Stark HQ. That they showed us with Peter using his home made costume shows you that they were not trying to eliminate the original idea of Peter making the suit.
It always bugged me in the comics that as long as Spidey knew the Human Torch, he never asked Johnny Storm to set up a meeting with Mr. Fantastic. He tried to join the FF in #1. He could have worked with Reed Richards on improving all of his gadgets (webbing, web shooters, tracers).
Anyway, Infinity War will have him wearing an upgraded iron spider suit, so Homecoming 2 should have him come back tot he neighborhood. But he can't just drop all of the tech.
Spidey rules

Better action the action was my biggest issue with the first movie. It wasn't bad but it didn't stand out either. In the past Spider-Man movies I thought there was at least one fight in ever movie that stood out in this movie not so much. Also we need to get more about Uncle ben and I think we will. With his ant finding out about Peter being Spider-Man at the end I am sure we are going to get some kind of talk between Peter and her about him being Spider-Man and I think that would be a great time for Peter to bring up uncle ben and kind of what happened and why Peter must do this. Also we need to get more spider sinces stuff didn't really get much if any in HC. Last we need to get JJ back not having him for the last 3 Spider-Man movies sucks time to bring him back.

This is literally my wishlist right here haha, although I didn't mind the score for the movie, I agree with everything on this list. I just want a more traditional Spider-Man film....not a re-invented Iron-Man Jr /Miles-Peter hybrid Spider-man film.

Hard not to agree with a lot of this

I'm hoping the suit tech gets toned down in the sequel. I wouldn't mind him having a limited number of gadgets as long as it's restrained and grounded (maybe just the armpit wings, drone, and a couple web shooter variations), but I kind of hope they scrap the AI and most of his extra features. Giving him a computerized AI that can instantly calculate solutions to problems kind of takes away from his "everyday kid struggling to get by" nature. It would be a lot more interesting to watch him try to solve problems on his own, not just rely on an AI to make plans for him.

I wonder if Keaton his character will be back for the sequel? If not then he might be back especially if they go the Sinister Six route for future Spidey sequels considering his villain never died but also I wonder about Adrian's daughter Liz I wonder if she will be back for future sequels as well given that she was the primary love interest for Peter's character

Unless they introduce Gwen Stacy in this franchise as well or they instead go the Mary Jane route

Only two things: I want to see Spider-Man progress to a more careful superhero. In the first one he just left Scorpion dangling there by the edge of the ferry. If Gargan had gotten tired, he would have fallen off and possibly die. And that's just one example. I love how well meaning this Peter is, but it makes me uneasy if he causes harm.

And I want to see Peter face more serious challenges. Big part of Spider-Man is that he sometimes gets into hard times and gets out of them stronger.

Agree with everything on this list hell I would rather they cast Uncle Ben now and show him in flashback sequence at least to show his influence on Peter...but who to cast in that role even if it is in a flashback sequence?

I would take the real Mary Jane Watson showing up and hell Harry Osborn too also being introduced as well to be a friend...don't really like Ned as his friend and it makes perfect sense for him and Harry to be friends...perfect explanation being Ned moves away or something

With a Harry intro you also are introduced to his father the iconic Norman Osborn who will eventually become Green Goblin one of if not Spidey's biggest arch enemy

OSCORP also being introduced

If you have to keep up the illusion of fellow Avengers showing up I would not have them as side characters but rather showing up as small cameos so that way it doesn't overshadow Spidey in his own movie where he is supposed to be front and center

Spider-Man needs to win a fight...not just survive a fight but win... AT LEAST with regular crooks.

Wow... this exactly what I want. Like my exact thoughts.

  • Action: should be intense, immersive, heart-pounding, play on Spidey's/the villians power set and better shot.
  • World building: Homecoming never felt like a Spider-Man or comic book universe. I would love an authentic New York vibe
  • Creativity behind the scenes: Fix the bland MCU look. More color, well thought out/artistic costumes, cinematography, set design, etc
  • Comic book accuracy: Need I say more... let's get the BEST Peter/Spider-Man ever. Supporting cast too
  • MCU: Sequel should be more of a standalone. No mentors, Happy, Tony Stark, etc
  • Gravitas!
  • Comedy: I laughed once or twice in Homecoming.

Basically, all of this ^.

Try to use less CGI maybe? The entire set piece on the boat looked like a video game. Say what you will about the ASM movies, but the first one featured some real good practical fight scenes that looked good.

The humor, this was the least funniest in the whole marvel universe. it missed consistently.

slightly more serious tone as well.

All of this.

And please, please, no more CGI suit. We've all seen the Raimi and TASM movies, we know for a fact that you don't need CGI to make his suit look good on the big screen, so why in the **** can't Marvel just do it? Spider-Man is not Iron Man or Rocket Raccoon, he's just a boy wearing red and blue spandex.

I will take fake Cgi suit over dumb A.I Iron Boy suit. Its the lesser of two evils.

The marketing. From what I noticed, Homecoming is still a divisive film like the last two were. Difference now is instead of fans either loving or hating it, they either love it or find it decent and overrated.

Unlike ASM2 though, I attribute this to the marketing. I think a lot of the criticisms towards it (Peter using "awesome" every 5 seconds and clinging to Tony) aren't really in the film and were mostly things from the marketing that bled into the movie. I mean, we also had a poster that became a laughing stock on the internet. That's unheard of for a film as successful as Homecoming.

I’d also appreciate them de-emphasizing Peter’s naïveté. We get it. He’s a teenager and he’s less experienced and mature than the other Avengers.

Seriously, I think we underestimate what a bad taste it left in the mouths of a good fraction of the population. I mean, we also had a poster that became a laughing stock on the internet. That's unheard of for a film as successful as Homecoming.

If Homecoming was the first reboot after the trilogy, I think it still would've had the decent/overrated criticism from many. But of course, if Marvel had gotten Spidey immediately after SM3, the movie would've probably been much different anyway

I can see the good in Homecoming, but still it's maybe a bit half-assed, considering they had to fight the negativity from the ASM movies
