What would you like to see in the rumoured new costume?

Looks like the regular costume to me.

Yup. And I didn't expect Morrisson and Daniel to change the costume too much. This could be the new costume or not, but what made me post it is the fact that it looks different from the past Tony Daniel Batman drawings.

Guys, a Tony Daniel sketch that appeared in a Newsarama interview with Dan Didio regarding R.I.P. Is that the new costume? The cowl looks very different from Tony's past drawings, and the symbol looks like the Dark Knight movie symbol.

Can anyone make out the issue # at the top of that sketch?

I'd be cool if they did draw the ears like the ears in the movie, they just look more natural/bat like, rather than spike looking ears he has in the comics.

Doubt it... different bat-symbol isn't exactly a redesign of a Batsuit.
Looks like your classic batman outfit to me.

It's the same. He's not getting a new costume the first issue of the arc.

If that picture being the regular costume weren't already obvious, here's Daniel's cover to 667, which features the regular costume:

something from the new batman: gotham knights would be pretty cool

I seriously doubt that that's a new costume. Daniel's drawn the Bat-symbol in a more TDK-shaped style since he assumed art duties on the title, and the horns could be like they are because Batman's looking down, mid-fall.

Truth be told, though, he's so heavily shaded in shadow that it's really hard to tell either way. But I'm gonna take a shot at the dark and say that he's wearing the same duds.

and so what if they do change it up that drastically.... in other arcs & other books, he'll still look the same!

i don't think it really matters what the new costume looks like. Nor do i think it's really necessary. The quality of the costume is gonna change as different artists draw it, anyway. Tony Daniel might make the costume look awesome. Dustin Nguyen might make it look like crap. or vice versa.

i am currently working on something new & different from my original art I posted

I love bunk's design. I don't I think for use in the comic though it would have to be toned down slightly. Nevertheless, elements of it could translate very well.

I used the Batman Beyond image posted above and used photoshop to edit it. Batman is all black. The cape, logo and belt is gray. The logo wraps around Batman's neck and makes the cape. The cape is more wing-like. The colors are more urban camouflaged then before. It's a mix of the classic costume and the one seen in Batman Beyond.

Brilliant. But where does his cape clasp on to?

i don't like it.... no no no... but that's okay you didn't like mine, which was @ least original

that mignola-esque image looks great, but not for a modern Batman. Besides it's basically normal Batman with two lines drawn down the front of his torso.

What do you call those types of jackets anyway?

That's not bad. First suggestion I've liked, if drawn right I can see it looking much better than it does in that mock-up.

Todd MacFarlane has admitted many times that Batman was an inspiration for Spawn, along with The Spectre.

and this guy?

Nightwatch from Spiderman, from around the time McFarlane was on the title and before I believe the introduction of Spawn. Nightwatch has a "self-aware" evolving nanite costume, similair to Spawns living costume from Hell.

I did this as an excample of a movie batsuit, but I wouldn't mind seeing somethingsimilar in the comics:

the mignola-esque design... those types of jackets are BOMBER JACKETS they were huge in the early to mid 20th century
