What would you like to see in the rumoured new costume?

Not done by me, but I love it!

Interview with Tony Daniel. He says he was asked to design new Batman and Robin costumes, so maybe it's not Ross doing the redesign (or maybe these are temporary, just for this arc, with Ross redesigns to come later? Or maybe we have everything wrong? Who knows?) They also show a picture of Daniel's redesigned Batmobile, which I think is totally kickass (and exactly how I thought the batmobile should be).

And I'm gonna go against the grain and say I like THIS one, too.

i dont know how i feel about the red, but i like the car.

Do you guys think that it might be a fairly radical change like Knightfall? I guess it would depend on who takes over.

...That's it?

Honestly, I usually like Daniel's work, but that doesn't look at all like a redesign. It looks like a generic late 90's, early 2000 Batmobile with red tinted windows. The tire emblems, battering ram, armored rims, ect... it's all stuff we've seen before. This just manages to roll it into one design and tone it down to a level that it's almost boring.

It's not a bad design. Just... not really anything to brag about, IMO.

I think the idea was to boil the Batmobile down to a standardized, repeatable design. Batman hasn't had a standard batmobile in years; every artist draws all these crazy variants, many of which are really out there. The goal is probably to create one simple an iconic so everyone will use it and it'll become "the" batmobile for this era.

If that's the case, I think it's great. I'm not a fan of the especially crazy batmobiles. My favourite has always been the BTAS car, and this reminds me of that. I think it's great; it's simple, sleek, and not overdesigned with all the usual nonsense the recent cars have had, which has always looked odd next to a very minimalistic design like Batman's costume. It's been concentrated down to the most fundamental elements of the batmobile, and it's strong for it.

Yep, that's pretty much the reason I dig it, too. In fact, I wish the live-action movies would follow this pattern, too...the Tumbler's nice and all, but I do want to see that thing start getting upgraded and streamlined and not be so busy-looking.

looking at the logo on the wheel of the batmobile makes me inclined to think that the comics are going to start using the Nolan version on the suit.

Just thought i would expand a little more..The red and black theme will obviously continue throughout the arc..The new batmobile is you guessed it..red and black...

Red and black...not a bad idea.

In fact, the new bat costume SHOULD be red and black.

The costume should be the same, but with new features:

*The mask should cover all of his head, with the exception of the eyes which should be outlined in dark red.

*Symbolic stitches should cover the mouth of the mask.

*The utility belt should be in dark RED.

*The cape should be black with a red outline.

This costume would definitely fit that red-and-black theme in RIP.

I think it can be assumed that the bat symbol on the wheels is the same one that will appear on Batman's chest, correct?

That Batmobile is the best this millenium...I hope he sticks with it and doesn't put it in the corner of his huge Collection(i just read Hush this weekend, the scene with like a hundred different designs made me throw up in my mouth most of them sucked). THis batmobile is very simple and basic, and black and red look SWEET together..Lovin it...

after reading batman the greatest stories ever told, i think they should use the neal adams suit, but make the cowl, cape, boots, etc. back instead of the blue highlight. It is classic...

New costume should have a covered mouth. Maybe the Batman Beyond thing.

but then HOW would we know when he's gritting his teeth? (i should rephrase that... how would we know when he's NOT gritting his teeth)

i don't understand the thing about covering the mouth... the mouth being exposed for expression is what helps him be a BAT-MAN (it gives him a certain humanness)

Is the batsuit behind Bruce in #677 (the one which looks all solid color and has a similar emblem of the Batman Beyond suit with the same kind of mask look) the new suit?

I haven't seen it prior that issue. *shrug*

It's possible. I just wish we knew when they'll reveal the new suit.
