What happened tonight is exactly why I love wrestling. A story with a great story to finish it off. WWE booked it perfectly tonight. This was one of the funnest times I've had watching wrestling, and the booking was straight out of 1999. The 2 Money in the Bank matches were great. I marked out so hard for Miz running back down to try to win the match. I wish so hard he could have pulled it off. Christian was finally booked as a heel for probably the first time in this whole run. It came off great. He won, but got laid out in the process. I was expecting Daniel Bryan to come out to cash in, and get the crowd to pop so hard, but it wasn't meant to be. Hopefully this means that Christian is going to get a legit reign. The problem is that I want to want to root for Christian, I wish he won the belt as a face. But I'm glad he has it. Hopefully he has a reign in store for him, and he doesn't just drop it again on Friday.
Reenacting the Montreal Screwjob was a bit predictable, so was Vince trying to get Del Rio to cash in, but honestly, just because something is predictable doesn't always inherently make it worse. Sometimes it is possible to out think yourself just for the sake of doing something unpredictable. Punk needed to walk out of Chicago with the title. Him knocking the hell out of Del Rio and then running for the exit while Vince helplessly watched on was great.
The next few weeks we'll be interesting. We'll see how this gets handled. Here's your shot, Punk. You've got my attention. Now show me you really are the greatest in the world... in the ring, on the mic. You have hit both extremes for me - you've made me want to turn off the TV due to how horrible you were, and you've been a part of one of my most memorable wrestling moments of all time. Show me you're the latter, and not the former. Vince, don't **** it up. Cena, don't lame it up.
