What's that comic called where the creator modeled the main character after his wife (a former magician assisstant). The comic was about magic or something. It was in wizard this year if that helps.

The only comic that I know of where the creator modeled the main character after his significant other is Kabuki, by David Mack.

Madam Mirage by Paul Dini

In keeping with the spirit of the thread, there was a 4 issue mini in full color that dealt with a regular guy gaining superpowers (I think mainly flight). I believe he was a pizza delivery driver or something to that effect. All I remember was that it was pretty well recieved, and it came out from a small publisher with clean, crisp art.

You might be thinking of Truth, Justin And The American Way by Scott Kurtz. It came out from Image and was a pretty good comic.

Here's the whole first issue

Is that what you're talking about?

I actually just found it online. It's Bizarre New World, published by Ape Entertainment.

Well, Paul Dini did first ask out his wife, a stage magician, because she reminded him of Zatanna.

Pete Stathis' Evenfall is an indie-book that has a sort of fantasy setting,. and the main character is based on his SO, but I don't get the feeling that's what you're talking about.
