Finished reading "The Thousandfold thought" by R. Scott Bakker.

Next up is "Echo" by Jack McDevitt.

Undisputed: How to Become the World Champion in 1,372 Easy Steps by Chris Jericho and Peter Fortunale

A thoroughly entertaining book, though at times a little hard to follow chronologically. I would have put more specific dates in there to make the timeline of events clearer. Jericho's a very good storyteller with sharp humor and cultural references (everything from Naked Lunch to Tropic Thunder is in there). He also conveys sincerity when it comes to the sad events in his life (he discusses Eddy Guerrero, Chris Benoit, and his mother dying) without being overly dramatic. Mick Foley is still the king of wrestling books, but Jericho's a respectable second-in-command.

A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole.

Excellent, funny book. It was slow going at first and I hated the main character but as the plot really got moving I found myself really engrossed in it. The way all the various characters and subplots were woven together was very clever and Ignatius...let's just say there will never be another protagonist like him. By the end I was desperately wishing for a sequel.

started Dead Girl in Love today while running at the gym. the final book in the trilogy by Linda Joy Singleton

good!

i fully intend on reading it again before the movie comes out

My wife usually takes about 2 weeks to read a book when rushed and 2 months if reading casually. She's mad because she finished it in 2 days and we don't have enough money to pick up the next 2 books for another 2 weeks.

And believe it or not the amount of 2's in this post was entirely unintentional :)

Started Hunger games last night and finished it today. Great book! Went out and bought the two sequels and am eager for my wife to finish the second one so I can start it. If I stay home with my sick daughter tomorrow I might read it then.

I have a copy of the first Hunger Games, but I'm hesitant to read it because I don't want to pay for the hardbacks of the second and third. I may wait around for all of the paperbacks before I read any of the series.

Try buying them used online. I've not looked into it but I typicaly find books cheap on ebay.

Finished " A Kingdom Besieged " by Raymond E. Feist

The Man in the High Castle- Phillip K. Dick

Elric: The Stealer of Souls, "Stormbringer."

Now THAT is how you end a saga!...even if it was in the first omnibus of novels. They are presented in order of publication.

This is a Call: The Life and Times of Dave Grohl - Paul Brannigan

I just finished Mockingjay, the final book of the Hunger Games trilogy.

First off, I'd like to say finishing Mockingjay with fuzzy medicated head due to vertigo is a trip and something I wouldn't suggest to others.

My thoughts right now, though they may change in time:

The Hunger Games - Very good book though with a slow start. In the end I wished they would have tied up all the loose ends but they were mostly finished so it was still pretty close to a good solo novel. Very heart wrenching at times but also very good in general.

Catching Fire - This book was just okay for me. The first half was kinda boring and, while entertaining, the second half felt like we'd be here before. It mostly felt like a bridging novel between Hunger Games and Mockingjay, though an enjoyable one. Definately not as good as Hunger Games.

Mockingjay - I didn't like it. I was bored to tears and forcing my way through the first 250 pages or more and likely would have stopped if not for everyone saying the book is wonderful. The last hundred or so pages were entertaining but all in all it didn't make up for the lackluster majority of the book. I thought it was boring and depressing and nothing really balanced out the negative parts to make it a positive read. I just didn't like it.

Again though, I just finished the book and am sick in the head so I might like it more in a few days.
