Ha! William Klein's superhero satire feels like Fox News and a Toby Keith song conceive of a comic book character. It's fun and over the top. Mr. Freedom's world is populated with oddly costume characters and settings thanks to Klein's eye for some great visuals. John Abbey also gives a great performance as the hyper jingoistic Mr. Freedom.
Nothing to add that I didn't pick up on the second time I saw it. There's a moment at the start where Cobb jumps out of the bath tub and tackles Saito which really tickled my fancy.
4/5
Cronos
I hadn't realised how rich and detailed this film truly was until I'd heard Del Toro's commentary. Genuinely astonishing for a first effort.
