Shrek Forever....again. I was actually doing multiple things, laundry, et cetera. So it was just on in the background, but I watched some.

The Rite 4/10

Blue Valentine- My GF wanted to rent it, saying it's supposed to be a really romantic movie

With Super 8 being Abrams' third movie he have crafted an incredible one. There's parts where it's exhilarating but also, more importantly, because it has heart, it's tender and moving. It's a nostalgic reminder of the times of Spielberg's early movies but it's also enjoyable as it's own.

The kids are the stars of the show and it resonates well between them with a natural and wonderful chemistry they had. Courtney is good but Fanning is the stand-out, she has a commanding presence to her. An outstanding job with the score, Giacchino, loved it. I had a terrific experience and when it ends I hope it leaves you with a smile on your face as it did with me.

P.S. And do stay when the credits are rolling, you're in for a treat.

Apocalypse Now Redux. Probably my favourite film ever. I do think the part at the French plantation drags a little bit, and takes the focus away from the journey up river. But still, a true masterpiece.

Aye, that bit is boring as ****, the theatrical cut is much better, there are other little adds that spoil the flow of the film in redux, I never watch my dvd of AN cause i only have the redux version.

I really like the extended Marlo scenes but that plantation scene takes me right out of it.

X-Men - 8.5/10

Ah, X-Men, I hadn't seen it for a few years and decided to watch it again. I've seen it a million times when it first came out and even after all these years it is still an awesome movie. The characters, the acting, the music... just a great first movie for an awesome comic book property.
