Splendor in the Grass - 9/10

Elia Kazan has to be the best director in terms of the understanding of people and their emotions, allowing us to really connect with them, as dramatic as they are. There's a timelessness to what he does. He's also an amazing actor's director.

They're in the remake. I watched the original. Apparently the remake is like the remake of Psycho where it's practically shot for shot.
I watched the remake and I didn't like it. (I've never seen the original). I thought that the version I saw was annoying smug and cute.

Did the remake have that stupid "rewind" scene in it?

The Spy Who Loved Me

8/10

Before this, the other James Bond films I'd seen were Goldeneye, the first five Sean Connery ones, and the two Daniel Craig ones. Suffice to say, my foray into Roger Moore's Bond was a much different experience. I dug its cheesiness, getting thoroughly pumped when Bond used a ski pole hidden gun and a car-turned-watercraft. Sometimes the music choices were a little much, particularly the parody-like smooth jazz used for the sex scenes (or near-sex scenes), but even those moments made me smile a little. Being a lover of puns both good and bad, I greatly appreciated the humor.

"Where is 007?"
"He's on a mission in Austria."
"Well, tell him to pull out. Immediately!"
(cut to Bond and the girl on the bearskin rug).

Yeah, I can definitely get behind this Bond-with-more-comedy thing. My only big knock against the movie is that it kind of recycled the plots of From Russia With Love and You Only Live Twice.

3.5/5

Pretty much the movie that inspired The Substitute and Dangerous Minds but without the violence.

Ghostbuster II
4/10

Boy I never realized how much it sucked!

30 Minutes or Less 6.5/10 pretty funny but had no ending, it just didn't feel complete. Danny McBride and Aziz Ansari were great though.

Take Shelter

I watched it high and started freaking out, never had that reaction to anything while in that state before

Role Models.

Jane Lynch and that little black kid should have their own variety hour TV show. :o

3/5

Probably Tom Jane's best performance out of the other films he's been in.

9/10 I can't speak highly enough of this film. The story wasn't too engaging, but the performances, dialogue, and atmosphere of the movie really sucked me in and kept me involved the whole film. I really liked it.

Batman Returns - A nostalgic favourite of mine.
