The Dark Knight What's up with the stupid goons?

I would hate to be the dumb silent alarm goon. Joker didn't tell him to kill anybody =(
Nor the bus driver. Although I was amused that he went, "Heh, he's not getting up, is he?" like he didn't care he just ran down a guy.

This has probably been said already in this thread but another thing I wondered, The first shot of Joker from behind why didn't the Goons see his face & notice that it was in fact the Joker right when they pulled up?? Because he puts his mask on right after they pull up but just a thought....I still love the prologue & the goons. haha

It looked like he was counting too, otherwise the other goon wouldn't have said, "Where did you learn to count?" I mean, he obviously wasn't counting. :oldrazz:

Lazy thugs, I tell ya. Having to ask the silent shy goon the math question. Us silent types arent ALL smart, ya know! First they think we're gonna kill everybody and then they think we're the math geniuses. What's next, sexual advice?

well the bus driver probably was told to aim for that guy
There was kind of a wall in the way, and he was driving backwards. :oldrazz: The Joker had to move as well, after checking his watch. The bus driver was probably just told that he needed to ram the bus through that wall at a specific time.

The van stopped in front of him, so it's plausible that the guys just saw the man standing at the corner with a duffle bag and clown mask and assumed he was on the team. Besides, they're stupid goons anyway, they don't look. :cwink:

The Joker could have said
"alllriggghhttt you backk up with the busss driver, try and hitt the goon witthh a moohawk. We are goinng to takke himm out of the plann. Then we can reapp the rewards, if he getss up...kill him yourselff"
hands busdriver goon a gun

ta da

I don't get it. After watching the prologue, it's as if every member in Joker's gang is a complete tard. The thing that bottles my mind is that they have a personality of a tard, but they can do difficult tasks like swing on a rope across rooftops, open the bank door, etc...

It's a case of Steve Urkelephobia.

We don't even know if bus driver guy had a gun. All he had was his bus, and Joker took that from him.

Poor bus driver guy. :csad:

he might have had a gun.. who drives with their gun out? check his coat pocket? maybe. How are you not going to rob a bank without a gun

If I could take out one exchange it'd be "What kind of bank does that", "A mob bank". They already implied it with the silent alarm dialing a private number and "do you have any idea who you're stealing from?"

What is the harm in that line, especially for the average moviegoer who goes into this movie without any foreknowledge about its plot details? It even makes sense for the goon to ask that question, since the Joker clearly didn't warn them that it's a mob bank.

This is just a ridiculous level of nitpicking.

Psh, no need for a gun if you have a yellow school bus! :woot:

No it isn't. It's an example indicative of the whole of the last film, something large enough to spoil BB for me. I'm sure the average movie-goer is smart enough to put it together, especially as the Joker is going to bribe them with the money a little later on

I would agree, but after comments that indicated they did NOT realize BB was NOT a sequel to the current series. I would not be too sure

I did actually think about that as well. His head is tilted down and the van pulls up fast. As soon as it does he puts the mask on. I doubt that the goons inside were paying much attention..not to mention the masks which probably limits they're vision to a degree. Besides, it is Chi-Gotham..everyone there walks around with paint on their faces :cwink:

LOL that sentance is enjoyable hard to parse. You have such little faith in people :woot:

i agree they sound like gangsters from a 1940's film hahaha

You are talking about a viewing public who got Arrested Development cancelled from low ratings, because it didn't have a laugh track to let them know when something funny has happened.

And tell me this: What would be the natural thing for a thief to say, after he just got unexpectedly shocked by a vault in a bank which he was not informed is owned by the mob? Nothing?

oh man arrested development, actually I blame fox for that because they put it on at like 11 at night and would change the times it was aired daily.

Fox canceled too many good shows, I'm still mad at them for canning Firefly
