Post your favirote controler design.

whether its ps2, wii, gamecube, etc.

Mine is probaly the wii controler.

Probably the Wii. Physically speaking, my eyes are still getting adjusted to it's look, but it's feel for games that have really worked on the gameplay is brilliant. PS2's controller was pretty good... it was like the most basic controller, and it got it right in a lot of ways. Wavebird was the first of the wireless gen... and considering I was a fan of the GC controller, it was all good.

Ya, i would have to say the gamecube controller was probaly the most odd shaped controller!

:oldrazz:

It was no worse than the Xbox controller.

Got a point, but those 2 where the weirdest.

Unless you think of more.

:hyper:

Dual Shock 1 was the best for it's time. Every other controller aside from the wii pretty just ripped it's design, with minor modifications so they wouldn't get sued.

The GC controller took some getting used to, mostly because of the push-click L/R buttons and the awkward placement of the Z trigger. I actually prefer the N64 controller over the GC :)

The ddr pad was pretty cool even though it was only used for 1 game.

Yeah, but that was pretty much an evolution of the SNES controller.

I think the PS2 is the best controller ever made

As far as Nintendo goes, I think the SNES was the last good character design they had. I've hated all of them since the horrible N64

i agree that the ps2 controller was cool but i don't agree
about the N64 controller. :cmad:

I thought that was Nintendo's worst design and one of my least favorite controllers ever. I thought they were trying to be too different and it just didnt feel natural to me at all. They should have just expanded on the SNES controller like they had with the NES. Too bad Sony went and did it instead.

From all the new controllers, i would have to say the PS3 controller. AND THAT'S BECAUSE THERE IS NO BATTERIES. I hate the fact that i'm wasting batteries for the xbox 360 and the wii controllers, it's annoying.

with out the N64 controller, you wouldnt have the controllers of today. it being the first contoller to have a joystick for your thumbs instead of the basic up down left right button pad.

and the gamecube controller is my fav.

If you think this then you don't like the gamecube or wii controller.

There diffrent shaped controllers is on thing that makes nintendo uneiqe. :cmad:

Actually the first analog controller was released for the Sega Saturn with Nights.

I learned how to play video games when I was 3, with the Atari 2600.

I then went to the NES

After a 13 year break in console gaming, I went to the PS2, since there were some PS2 games I wanted to play, plus the PS1 games I wanted to play. Not the best.

I then got an Xbox. The S-Controller is comfortable, except for the dopey memory card slots. If they were removable, it'd be perfect.

LOL! Your life story.:whatever:

This guy is correct. :yay:

No, he is not.

It is Nintendo that introduced the modern analog on the Nintendo 64 controller in June 23, 1996. Revolutionary, this innovation (dubbed the "control stick"), allowed for varying degrees of pressure and 360-degree control, translating into more precise movements in games such as Super Mario 64 (Wikepedia). On July 5, 1996, Sega released their NiGHTS game with an analog-pad add-on.

My post history may have earned me a biased a reputation, but I'm loyal to Nintendo because of their innovative, risk-taking spirit. They were the first to pioneer:
  • Cinematic Storytelling (Donkey Kong, Ocarina of Time)
  • D-PAD (SMB)
  • Analog (SM64)
  • Camera Control (SM64, OoT)
  • Lock-On Targeting (OoT)
  • Rumble Feed-back (SF64)
  • FPS Control (GE007)
  • Dual, Touch Screen (DS)
  • Motion Detection (Wii)
And the list goes on.

Of the tradition contollers, I think the best by far is the GameCube controller. The button layout, particularly the placement and size of the A button, was genius.

Overall, Wii takes it. By far the most user-friendly controller ever.

So, i really don't care!

If you really want to get old fashin with analog stick you have to go back to the old arcade machines.

:whatever:

Analog implies sensitivity to varying degress of pressure, which, I'm sorry, the old arcade machines didn't have.
