I'm re-watching the films in prep for CS, and my views of the films are changing. Certainly TWINE has improved tenfold in my opinion. So the top ten...

From Russia With Love
Goldfinger
Thunderball
The Spy Who Loved Me
For Your Eyes Only
Octopussy
The Living Daylights
Licence to Kill
Tomorrow Never Dies
The World is Not Enough

I'd agree on these as some of the best, but octopussy? at least it's not as bad as FYEO :woot:

I love Connery but some people hold him in way too high of a pedistal. Sure he was the best Bond but half his films were ****.

Sure Goldfinger and From Russia With Love are the gold standards of what James Bond is. Dr. No was damn good too. But Thunderball was the beginning of Bond becoming a characture. That is why he was bored out of his mind in YOLT which is where the campy Bond movies started, not Roger Moore. YOu could see Connery wasn't even trying in that one (much like Brosnan in the second half of DAD, I prefer both over Moore but at least it can be said Moore never let his boredom if there was any be reflected on the screen).

Then he got paid a huge pile of money to do DAF which is imo the worst movie in the entire series and again Connery wasn't trying. Moore for his part at least did some good htings with campy Bond (most notably TSWLM) and could play a serious Bond if the script called for it (FYEO). Connery only came back because Sony was desperate to make the Thunderball remake and again he was paid a huge amount of money to play Bond again. Now I think he is the best Bond but again his boredom in that movie is present, probably because he hated the producer and Kirchner (who was fresh off of Empire Strikes Back....go figure!).

Have you seen the fan-edited version of NSNA? It improves a huge ammount simply by having the proper Bond music in it.

Goldfinger
FRWL
Thunderball
Dr.NO

CR will make up my top 5 hopefully and then its just a matter of where it'll be placed.

Dude.....I love those also!! Rare to see one of such good taste hanging around these boards. ;)

I just got finished watched Goldfinger before, and just reaffirmed for me why I love it: it really is the perfect Bond movie. Strong plot, great action, great love interest, great villian, and the best Bond of them all.

Personally, I'd have a hard time putting a Top 10 together, but here it goes:

1) Goldfinger
2) Goldeneye
3) The Spy Who Loved Me
4) Dr. No
5) Live And Let Die
6) From Russia With Love
7) The Man With The Golden Gun
8) Thunderball
9) You Only Live Twice
10) Octopussy

I do have a strong feeling that Casino Royale will rank high up there for me as well.

Its a real shame this is not a multiple choice poll,i have more than one favorite. But i voted for Goldeneye, but i also enjoyed A View To Kill,Moonraker and Lisence To Kill.

The Living Daylights
