Do you think the villain Whitaker needed more scenes since he only got four?

Alot will say Koskov was the main villain but Whitaker was the one who ordered Pushkin dead and also at the end of TLD he tells Bond that he can take Koskov away anytime. This makes me think Whitaker did not like Koskov?

TLD was great and it made a difference letting Bond go up against realistic baddies compared to previous cartoonish ones like Stromberg or Drax.

Realistic bad guys? The Living Daylights has just as 2D, cartoonish bad guys, just less intresting ones. Whitaker was a fat, greedy general who played with toy soldiers and worshipped war. Koskov was a good character, but waay overacted.

I'm foolishly going to put them into 3 catagories:

MOVIES I LOVE
For Your Eyes Only (1981)
The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
Goldfinger (1964)
From Russia with Love (1963)
The Living Daylights (1987)
Licence to Kill (1989)
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)
Octopussy (1983)
Moonraker (1979)
Thunderball (1965)

MOVIES I LIKE
Dr No (1962)
You Only Live Twice (1967)
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969)
A View to a Kill (1985)
The World is Not Enough (1999)
The Man with the Golden Gun (1974)
Live and Let Die (1973)

MOVIES I HATE
Diamonds are Forever (1971)
Die Another Day (2002)
GoldenEye (1995)

GoldenEye you hate?? why? I think one best PB Bond movies.

I watched Goldeneye last night after not seeing it for years. That is a *good* movie. It's quality. One of my all time favourites.

Isn't just a great movie.

My favourtie Broson movie for his time as James Bond.

For some reason I really like Tomorrow Never Dies as well. There's just something about it.

Uh it doesn't... it has 3 to Goldeneye's 12, Goldfinger's 8, and From Russia With Love's 4...

The Living Daylights has to be my fav 007 film.

Good action scenes, mix of interesting characters, music score, villains plot confusing but okay.

Necros was a good henchman but he could have had more scenes same goes for his boss Whitaker.

Other films I like Octopussy, Goldfinger and Goldeneye

1. Goldfinger
2. Goldeneye
3. From Russia With Love
4. The Spy Who Loved Me
5. Dr. No
6. The World is Not Enough
7. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
8. For Your Eyes Only
9. The Living Daylights

Those were the best ones in the series though.

You Only Live Twice. No doubt about it. The scope of that movie. It obviosuly influenced Mike Miers and his Austin Powers movies. It's the best. Great lines, great sets, great moments. And Donald Pleasance <stop that astronaut> as Bloefeld. Unbelievable! Can't top him. I just don't know why they never used him again. Again,...Mike Miers dug him. Great movie.

Bond Classics:

1. From Russia With Love
2. Goldfinger
3. Thunderball
4. OHMSS
5. For Your Eyes Only (Moore finally toughens up!)
6. The Living Daylights (Bond as assassin, finally!)
7. Goldeneye

Bond Poo-Poo:

1. Diamonds Are Forever
2. Live And Let Die (“You gotta Honky on your tail” UGH!)
3. Man With The Golden Gun
4. Moonraker (With the exception of TSWLM, Bond sucked bad throughout the cheesy 70’s)
5. A View to a Kill
6. Tomorrow Never Dies
7. Die Another Day

The rest are in the middle for me yet still very enjoyable….oh, and

Guilty pleasure:

1. Octopussy

Goldfinger...hands down.

"No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die."

Absolutely! You can't argue this, it has EVERYTHING you could possibly put into a bond film, except it doesn't collapse into a pile of sh$@3 the way newer bond movies have.

You've got (1) Connery at his best Bond, (2) hot bond girls, (3) tormenting deaths, (4) A+ villians, (5) classic dialogue, (6) sweet gadgets(albeit outdated), (7) classic bond soundtrack, (8) sharp bond-wit that isn't over-the-top, (9) intense and sustaining action, (10) gambling, (11) heavy espionage, (12) nuclear threats, (13) and a climactic end setting (Fort Knox, no less).

Goldeneye, Because it is still exciting and will always be timeless. Plus, I got my Pierce Brosnan voice impersonation from this flick.

Octopussy.

Great Villain...Great Bond Girls.

It can get a bit silly...but I still like it.

Despite Lazenby's acting, On Her Majesty's Secret Service is my favorite.

Can I add Mission: Impossible II?

It wouldn't be my favourite Bond movie anyway, but it more or less is one.

Yeah, but Connery strolls thru the whole picture bored.

Goldfinger is just effortlessly cool. The pacing and editing is so smooth and elegant, but becomes thrilling at the drop of a hat. Connery has never been better, as you said, and Oddjob is the quintessential movie henchman.
