I'm starting to think moore has to be knocked down a couple slots just for having bond show up like this in a film:

I'd probably take brosnan in his invisible car well below moore in his clown get up on the bond movie moment embarrassment scale.

The picture is not showing up on my iPad but is it of Roger Moore dressed as a clown??

I think that OP scene is a good one. It's tense. We already saw 009 get killed dressed as a clown at the beginning of the film. Is Bond following his predecessor's path, next in line for a similar fate, etc? The army and the audience are laughing away seconds before the nuclear bomb goes off on stage, not taking the situation seriously.

I actually really like that scene. Believe it or not, I took Moor epretty seriously dressed as thebclown when he's trying to convince them about the bomb.

I feel people don't give Moore enough credit. He wasn't as campy as people say at time. It seems people think all he did was make a joke out of Bond. Moore's Bond had great timing, was very suave and charming and likeable as can be. And he did do some cold ass **** in some of his films. He's just very enjoyable to watch. I'd put him over Dalton. Even if Dalton may have been ahead of his time, unlike Craig who utilizes wit and deadliness well, Dalton was a little toosaerious at times. Though when he was being serious and cold, it was great. In TLD when he holds Davies' wife at gunpoint that is one of my favorite Bond moments.

Is this a joke!?

The best Bond ever is, Sean flippin' Connery!

Followed by Craig and then there's everyone else.

The joke is the credit Connery gets for simply being cast first. Or Moore for simply being in a lot of films.

It is Craig and it really isn't even that close.

I don't see Craig's Bond as stoic, exactly. I see him as more as a man who (almost) has complete control of his emotions because his line of work demands it. But in various situations, you can clearly see an undercurrent of rage, lust, enjoyment, etc. It's just very subtle, unlike some of the other actors who have portrayed Bond.

1. Craig
2. Connery
3. Brosnan
4. Dalton
5. Moore
6. Lazyass

Connery had a perfect blend of class and working class. I can best describe him as a lazy predator. He (with Terrance Young) set the template for the cinematic Bond.

I used to like Connery best, but now I'd have to say Craig. Not just because of Skyfall either. It's because I watched a lot of Bond films in anticipation for the new one, and it had been a while. . . they just aren't all that great. Craig finally made Bond seem like a real person. Casino Royale and Skyfall just happen to top all the other bond films too, but Craig takes what's on the script, and really breathes life into it. None of the other Bonds are really that believable, save Connery at times.

In concept it's no different to Silva or Bond impersonating a police officer in Skyfall. The name of the game is blending in, and dressing up as a clown at a circus fits.

Best to worst:

Daniel Craig - He's not good looking (James Bond in the books wasn't either), but he doesn't need to be because he has the one thing that makes him the best from the rest (even Connery): intensity!

Sean Connery - The guy all the men wanted to be like and all the women wanted to be with. Cool, daring, handsome, and charismatic. He was one of a kind.

Pierce Brosnan - He was a bit too smug at times, but he is underrated now. He was very much like Connery. Tough, suave, and believable all at once.

Timothy Dalton - He was a good Bond, but my problem is he was too damn serious. Even the guys above him would crack a joke once in awhile to lighten the mood.

Roger Moore - I couldn't stand him. He did 7 films and I only liked 1 of them because he plays Bond seriously throughout most of the the film. He never cared for the source material. 007 was just as paycheck to him so he phoned in his performances with his cartoon-like nonsense.

George Lazenby - He had potential, but being stupid enough to lose the role after one movie makes him the forgotten Bond and he deserves to be an afterthought.

I agree 100% with this.
I do love Connery though...Goldfinger :hrt:

Craig. Both rude and class.
Then Connery.
The other ones are too "soft"

After watching Skyfall, it is still Connery. None of the others are even close.

I just rewatched 24 Bond movies (including NSNA, and this marathon took me a few weeks), and I was surprised how much differently I feel about the Bond movies and actors now compared to the last time I had a Bond marathon a few years ago.

Here is my new Bond actor ranking:

1. DANIEL CRAIG
2. TIMOTHY DALTON
3. SEAN CONNERY
4. GEORGE LAZENBY
5. PIERCE BROSNAN
6. ROGER MOORE

I agree 100% with this.

Connery is a solid second. He is a lot of fun to watch and has some of the best movies to his name, but Craig is in another league from all of them.

Sean no contest.
Brosnan, I like him since Remington Steel

Call me old school but I like my Bond like a good Bourbon, Craig is a Vodka. Vodka isn't bad but its not as smooth as a Bourdon.

The Best:
Timothy Dalton
Sean Connery
Daniel Craig

The Good:

George Lazenby

The Worst:
Pierce Brosnan
Roger Moore

I'd have to say Connery/Craig. They're the best two IMO.

I can't decide between them.

Sean Connery is the best Bond ever for me. Here's how I'd rank mine:

1. Sean Connery
2. Roger Moore
3. Pierce Brosnan
4. Daniel Craig
5. Timothy Dalton
6. George Lazenby
