When Smallville ends...

Well here is my take on his secret identity. I've always felt it was another unexplained alien power. When he put the glasses on he almost soes become another person. I think this idea was expressed best by christopher reeve in the origional movies. Basically when he put the glasses on everyone else sees him as a different person.

In my mind Clark Kent has always been the disguise and Superman/Kale-el is who he really is. He disguises himself as a human to fit in.

I would love fo them to add that as a power before the show ends. A way for him to hide his identity.

here's 4 word for you, sir:

IT

DOESN'T

F***ING

MATTER

after Smallville ends, IT ENDS
there will be no "Metropolis"

THANK YOU!! I'm tired of fans acting like there's gonna be some continuation to this show, like Clark's gonna become Superman with the costume and everything! Haven't had enough versions of Superman without expecting one from the people behind Smallville? This is way Superman Returns "underperformed" as it were, 'cause the concept's been done to death outside of the comics. We've had two critically-acclaimed animated series, a syndicated Superboy series that ran four years (a good run for any show in syndication) another live-action show with Superman, and so on. The whole hook of Smallville is Clark being a hero without being an icon.

He also has the power of distorting his face to ppl (or at least he had in some stories...) so they may use that...

Oh please! It couldn't have anything to do with the film itself, now could it? No, of course not. Warners just oversaturated the market with Superman properties. Yeah, that's it.

Look, nobody has a crystal ball here. Hoping something will happen doesn't assure that it will, but it doesn't mean folks can't express their desires nonetheless. If you have no interest in a potential Smallville spinoff should one happen, don't watch it, but don't act like it's ridiculous for those who enjoy the show to hope there might be something else SV-related after the show itself ends.

i think it might be good if they ever did it. It might explain some of the questions taht people have been wondering about when Clark is Superman.

again, no one is claiming that the show will continue. they writers, however, have established within the continuity of the series that he will eventually become Superman (see the screencaps above) so what we're actually discussing is the fact that they've contradicted themselves, or at the very least written themselves into a hole.

i feel the writers are throwing these elements in early to distance themselves from the whole superboy thing and the legal issues around it. by working at the planet, chloe, lois etc, it has become more teen superman than superboy. this way they can say it is not a show about superboy.
