Future plans for Smallville. The good & bad...

Sorry, I added stuff to your post as a joke toward Migu-El.

But hopefully Migu-El knows I'm just joking with him. ;)

Of course I know you're joking. I'm still offended.:cmad: :woot:

Just Kidding.:cwink:

Yes he has, to Lex, while on Red K. I recall him referring to the power he would have once he reveals 'what he can do' to the world.

Theres also the obvious fact that alien Kryptonians appeared after the 2nd meteor shower and Clark was strangely adopted by the Kents a very short time after the first.

Both meteor showers were Kryptonite-based too, which essentially points to them likely coming from the same place.

Personally, I'd rather Lex know pretty soon. The longer they prolong it, the more his intelligence is undermined, especially for this version of the mythos where all the proof his needs is so blatantly thrown in his face.

Theres no way he wouldnt recognize Clark in the suit after being this close with him anyway, so its probably best he know soon.

That was one instance over 3 years ago. Do you really think he's going to assume that Clark is an Alien from that. Besides Clark has shown Lex many times that he is a selfless person that would sacrifice his own well being to save someone else. I think that would out-weight his true motives to Lex then the one time that Lex had a convo with Clark when he was on red-k. And to answer your question about why Lex doesn't know that Clark is an Alien. There are Meteor Freaks in Smallville that can do some amazing things, so Lex thinking that Clark is one of them is a pretty logical assumption.

Hmmm... interesting. Have you guys seen this interview with Rosey?

Here's just one snippet, appropriate to this thread:

So, are you in it for the long haul?
Next year will be my last year. I had a great run. I loved it, but that will be it for me.

Really? Is that how the whole cast is feeling?
No, I think other people have longer contracts. I’m not going to say who, but I know that next year is the last for me. So, it will be very sad when it happens, but all good things must come to an end.

That's two out of three (Kreuk being the other.) I know S7 hasn't even been confirmed yet, but assuming it goes eight, it's gonna be a whole different show, which opens up that nasty can-of-worms again... LOL

Season 7 is his last ? Interesting indeed & last we heard Kristin wants out & if last year Michael is out

Yeah, and THAT quote IS definitive. There's no misinterpreting his comments. Add that to what Kreuk's already said (she's DONE after S7), and that just leaves Welling (who apparently is in it for the long haul based on his comments.)

So, WHERE are they gonna go with a Sup... err, Clark Kent story w/o Lex Luthor or Lana Lang - and still call it SV? :ninja:

We still don't know about Allison, Erica, & Aaron

Could a Metropolis Series be in the works ? Although a Metropolis show with Chloe in it might be weird with two Lois Lane type characters. So I guess Allison is probably the next one to hit the road.

here's the thing, if they lose their Lex Luthor (and obviously they have to have Welling under contract or it wouldnt even be a consideration) they've got to move Clark out of the whole Metropolis/Smallville area or else he'd still be running into Lex all the time.

Season 8, assuming it happens, would have to be something like the early parts of Birthright where Clark is traveling the world helping people. They could almost make it like the old Incredible Hulk TV show where Clark is pretty much a drifter in a new place each week helping different people with his abilities and learning life lessons from them. Not sure what they'd do with the rest of the regular cast that comes back though....

Well, I'll say it... Either they go FULL ON - Metropolis... or they throw more money around to keep their regulars.

But you know the drill.. as long as Tom's there, so am I. :)

Im all for a Metropolis series but I do not like the idea of Chloe there if the real Lois is there. I wonder what they are going to do with this

I'm all for some World Traveling Clark. He could come back to Smallville or Metropolis for a couple-a-three episodes, then have him hibernate in the Fortress for the end of the series and emerge as Superman.

But I think Season 7 will be the last.

It wouldnt make much sense calling the show Smallville then.

Maybe Lex should be the one who leaves Smallville.

I know they cant kill off Lex or Lana because of DC restrictions (Dwayne McDuffie wasnt allowed to kill off characters that werent dead in the comics on the final ep of JLU), but Chloe sounds like dead meat if AM is out.

I wonder if Glover can even stay on if Lex is gone, seems doubtful.

I was keeping mum on that part as I didn't want to rile the natives. LOL

I dunno. I thought I read somewhere that Mack said her contract was up next year too, but I'm not sure about that. Aaron does films, so if they want him, they gotta grab him as soon as they can, which would be next year around this time, I would think.

Erica... now she's a different egg. She's a lot like Welling in that she likes to work near "home." She's made some interesting comments about her loyalty to SV and "her guy" if a certain film opportunity were to be offered to her. They must really be one helluva tight-knit group up there! So, reading into Durance's comments, I think she's in it for as long as they want her, which is fine by me.

Would they do a Metropolis show? Pffft! Beats the hell out of me. I would have said no yesterday, but now I'm not so sure.

Youth Hostel Clark! Chloe could get herself a DP assignment to report on something having to do with youth hostels around the world - shady ones, ones where people are disappearing, something - and bring Clark along for protection. They'd get to see the world, only a few regulars would need to show up, and the show could avoid most of the nasty character conflicts the moviemakers seem to be worrying about.

Oh, and we'd get another shot at Chlark, as so many of you like to call that ship :woot: - or Jimmy could come, too, and he and Clark could get to know each other better while Clark watches their backs & gets some local girlfriends AT LAST.

Clark needs a girlfriend one way or another.

They could get Lex incarcerated and use outtakes from old eps to show very brief clips of him locked up somewhere (and somehow not getting out all year, which makes him even nuttier).

Lex could, on his own, move overseas - either take the Luthor mansion back there <LOL!> or find himself a new gig. Again, if he has to be shown/heard, use outtakes. Pix of him could appear in the papers, but he & Clark wouldn't have to run into each other.

JLAers could pop up from time to time...

First and foremost, get Clark a babe who doesn't die or have her attraction wear off in the AM!

I think they could get away with it for one season, as long as every so often he comes back to Smallville.

With his powers he could be back there in a matter of minutes at any time anyway. Hell they spend half their time in Metropolis now as it is

They could always change the name of the show to

"He Is Not The Last Kryptonian" :cwink: Or just simply "Clark Kent"

I think I'd rather slide down a giant razor blade into a pool of rubbing alcohol....

Here's another idea: Arctic Clark.

Something really bad happens back in SV, and Clark is implicated (or in serious danger) and hides out in/near the Fortress until the year is up & it's safe for him to return.

Could encounter new & strange people/creatures/critters up North: good
Wouldn't take his shirt off much if ever: very bad

He could leave some sort of signaling device behind for Chloe in the cave, so she could contact him via the Fortress for really urgent stuff (like if she & Jimmy get married). That way he could return very briefly...

Definitely no reason for Lex or Lana to show up, though!

Actually, there have been a lot of shows that have been successful with that kind of format. Highlander and Highway to Heaven come to mind, albeit they couldn't be more different in subject matter.

I tell ya, that would totally rock my sox off if they went in this direction. It works with Superman canon very VERY well (he still doesn't have to fly or wear the costume, and it gets Clark away from everybody he knows so that when he does finally show up in Metropolis years later, it's easier to swallow he's not recognized when he's Superman), it would be less expensive to produce (fewer full-time cast salaries to pay), most if not all stories would center around Clark and whatever guest star they had that week (no more ensemble cast to share screen time with LOL), and the stories could be more creative as they wouldn't have to rely on all things weird come from Smallville (the town). I see a whole lot of pros and no cons at the moment. Hmmm... :hyper:
