Use the bathroom trick. When the waiter comes by with the bill, just wander off to the bathroom and wait a good 15-20 minutes, someone else will pick up the check. Works every time.

Of course, you might not keep your friends very long.

Pay for your own meal. That means if Bob and Joe ordered the grilled cheese, but Lou ordered the lobster, that bill will not be divided into thirds.

if the service is excellent i pay 25%.
if it's mediocre i tip 20%.
and if it's crap i tip whatever the hell i feel like but then i make sure i go to the bathroom before hand and wipe my ass with the bills.

I usually tip 10%. 15-20% if the service was simply spectacular.

We all just look at the bill and throw in approximately what we had... for example it doesn't matter if the bill is $300, but if I had, say, a sandwich and a couple of beer, I might throw in $20-25 (tip included).

If I ever happen to start making more money, I'd be more than happy to throw in more than my share to help out my friends.

25% sounds good. I've been there done that and remember being stiffed on a tip...I don't want to be that jerk who stiffs people. If the service is minimum to subpar...then I'll shell out spare change - 10%, depending on my pissed-off meter. I can't recall a time when I haven't tipped.

i was out the other day and i realized that i RARELY ever notice a woman dining by herself.
she's either waiting at the counter to get it to go or she's dining with another woman.
if i DO happen to see a woman dining alone she's go some sort of magazine or book or project with her or something.

i say more women should take themselves out to eat.

2) Every guy who sees her will assume she's busy or has given up on finding a guy and has learnt to deal with her loneliness. This is a major turn-off, and in actuality her loneliness will increase.

Believe me, I'd like to see it too, but the simple fact is a lot of women go out with their friends so they don't have to feel unworthy if nobody hits on them.

Depends.
