other than gambit all of those characters would not fit into the scope of the currrent trilogy. time travel would be too far-fetched to fit into the reality based mood of the current series. also adding apocalypse, a character that has been alive for several thousand years might be a bit too much to swallow at this stage of the game... and it cast a shadow on the dark pheonix character, one that is to be perceived as the next leap in mutant evolution.

They would hint at it throughout the movie, have cut scenes to apoc building his fortress gathering power. Then you could start to see Prof X talk about the ultimate fusion, with him losing his grip on what's right and whats wrong. Will they ever respect the mutants and let them help the people or would they just push them away. His frustration and anger eventually would lead to have and magneto having secret meetings discussing their continguency plan.

Gambit could come back from an assignment and use a crazt plot line to get himself in the thick of the movie

yeah thats a great idea J"PLAYA" why don't we cram both the Phoenix Saga and the Age of the Apocalypse into a 2 hour movie and at the end Apocalypse and Phoenix get married and live in his fortress happily ever after....pssssh yea right

Geez, I'm a Gambit fan and I like Bishop but I think they deserve a whole movie to be developed, and this movie is too crowded to make those guy to shine.

Actually I'm not sure he watched the series either. I think he just played the arcade game (which was awesome btw)

I'd like to see Bishop, Gambit and Apocalypse but Bishop's origin would have to reworked because it's too complicated for one film where he's not the sole main character. Gambit could have been fit in easily. Same with Apocalypse I think. Cable is a pretty big part of Apocalypse's history (or visa versa rather) but I still don't think he's necessary. And again, his origin is too complicated, just like Bishop's. And actually, Apocalypse wouldn't really fit the tone of the X-Men movies so far. He's a bit to "fantastical" I guess you'd say.

a new trilogy involving apocalypse, sinister, cable, and bishop would be better than trying to squeeze that storyline into this arc. i would love to see another trilogy centered around the 2nd generation mutants, touching upon the morlock massacre with sinister behind it, introducing gambit as rogues new love interest, and ending with a final confrontation with apocalypse. throw in a bit of the hellfire club (being manipulated by apocalypse) and you've got a new series.... one that is a bit less reality based, but one where the scope is a bit more epic.
