Where the Wild Things are.

Well, being in Morgantown, there aren't any IMAX screens nearby. I don't know that I would go anyway. Most IMAX screens strike me as a ripoff of what's promised.

Well from Exprience then if you go to a MVA movie with the 3D screen there are some trailers that aren't in 3D they put in there so there is a chance you could see a trailer with it. It depends pretty much on the Projection people mostly

I'm falling more and more in love with this each time I see the trailer. It's getting me really nostalgic. This was one of my favorite books when I was little and it's awesome to see a beloved children's book being adapted with such respect and not dumbed down for kids like "The Grinch" and "The Cat in the Hat".

I was never read this book as a kid. I blame my parents!

this movie looks so indie and great.

it would be weird if this childrens book movie won an oscar lol

Well I wouldn't see them getting Nominated for Best Picture but I wouldn't be surprised if it got Nominated for Art Direction/Costume Design/Effects

Here's Nivek's post with a YouTube video of the 1988 update of the animated version. Although I strongly recommend getting the book. It's one of those things where animations or pictures on a computer screen just cannot do the book justice.
For refresher purposes...

Thanks for reposting that. This was one of those animated deals from the 80's that tried to use images directly from the book. It's a great refresher, but I know I'm gonna hit Border's on my lunch break and pick it up!

Just saw the trailer, looks odd, I might check it out.

I know most people are loving the trailer so I'm not trying to start a **** storm or anything.

I was just wondering if anyone else who had grown up reading the book, think that the voice work of the monsters was too normal and not...I guess monstrous enough?

Also, is this in fact going to be the non watered down version? I ask because one of the monsters faces looks altered from the book, but altered to make it look more friendly.

Man, I got really emotional after watching the trailer. Like, I almost started to cry. :o

You do realize that the book was like 30 pages long, right?

BTW, the trailer knocked my socks off.
Er, you realize most kids books are 32 pages, right? :p

There was a ton of stuff in the trailer that isn't in the book.

I just read some of the script online, and a lot of it is seriously PG-13 material, but basically would be 1980s PG-level stuff. Don't know if he altered anything though.

I am so glad Spike Jonze is directing this. The film looks so good, i must read the book again.

I say thats a good thing because 80's PG-13 films actually had balls while todays PG-13 stuff is just watered down and lame. I still say a film like Goonies would not and could not be made today.

Eh, I don't know about that. The Dark Knight, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings are all pretty ballsy PG-13.. just as much as anything from the 80's.

Man, the trailer is amazing. I can't wait. This was my favorite book as a kid. Brought some good memories back.

this trailer made me so nostalgic. It just looks like a feel good movie like no other. The trailer honestly brought tears to my eyes...something no other trailer has done.
