this movie looks so indie and great.
it would be weird if this childrens book movie won an oscar lol
I was never read this book as a kid. I blame my parents!
Here's Nivek's post with a YouTube video of the 1988 update of the animated version. Although I strongly recommend getting the book. It's one of those things where animations or pictures on a computer screen just cannot do the book justice.I was never read this book as a kid. I blame my parents!

I tend to agree, I kinda got a "Tim Burton" vibe from the trailer.Just saw the trailer, looks odd, I might check it out.
Er, you realize most kids books are 32 pages, right? You do realize that the book was like 30 pages long, right?
BTW, the trailer knocked my socks off.

There was a ton of stuff in the trailer that isn't in the book.
I just read some of the script online, and a lot of it is seriously PG-13 material, but basically would be 1980s PG-level stuff. Don't know if he altered anything though.
I say thats a good thing because 80's PG-13 films actually had balls while todays PG-13 stuff is just watered down and lame.
