Where the Wild Things are.

Yeah, movies that are somewhat on the slow side is not really made for the young set...they do need that constant action/excitement/comedy to keep them focused. I know we all claim we weren't like that when we were kids, but we all were.

Just saw it and loved it. Was surprised by how dark it got towards the end. Something about this movie just made me feel like a kid again. Like I felt all the emotions Max felt. That's how I know Jonze did a fantastic job.

One of the most scariest movies I ever seen..............

..................all jokes aside this movie was captivating. I loved it.
First of all, I want to applaud Max Records for a brilliant performance. Someone give this kid an oscar. I was blowed away. At how the entire movie centered around him. And most movies where the entire movies centers around a child the performance isn't that good, but this, was just superb.

Now the movie does have some flaws, but they are minor. The ending was a little disappointing. There are a few dark elements that could be too dark for children.
Carol's attitude and conflicts, and wanting to eat Max

. But these flaws are overshadowed by a perfect casting including the voice actors, fantastic visuals, and warming performances.I have to admit, I'm was so naive, but I watched the entire movie thinking Forest Whitaker was the voice for Carol... yeah I know.

I don't remember much, but as a child I used to scared of that book. But that was all apart of my imagination. It amazes to see Spike Jonze bring that concept to life on the screen.

So yeah, brilliant movie with a little flaws here and there.

8/10

Saw the movie yesterday. It was pretty good, even though it was a little slow.

I know alot of people are disappointed with the ending but I don't see what was so bad about it. Though towards the end I was thinking
"Max you idiot! You're not that far into the water, get out and give Carol a hug!"

The reason I felt disappointed was because I felt they could have done more with the ending. Especially
when the movie just ends with Max smashing on some cake and his mother just watching fighting sleep

I thought the way it ended was perfect.

I would've like to see his sister involved in the ending, especially with the importance K.W. had throughout the movie.

Ffffffuuuuuu-

I wanna see this so bad.

Wow, dude. Wow... Apologies that they have their own opinions on something.
I don' t have a problem with them having their own opinions. I watched their reviewed and it was fine. They listed Benicio Del Toro as a cast member so that's what my remark was about.

I loved the movie, though I did get a bit disenchanted with the stuff that happened before the movie. As in, they were playing trailers for movies like Planet 51, The Tooth Fairy, and some other horrid looking kids movies. It made me think "Is this what family movies are now?" So it was disappointing to see that but it made this movie all the more unique. It's a movie that almost shouldn't exist based on what studios love to make, and this is very out there. I just hope it finds its audience while in theaters so Spike can keep making these kind of movies and that smart family movies can still be made

My only complaint is that...
James Gandolfini didn’t kill Chris Cooper’s character.

^Didn't need to happen. The
arm ripping
was enough.

I know all of this is in a child's imagination but...
Why wasn't there blood when he ripped his arm off? The goat was injured in a realistic way. Why not Chris Cooper?

WTF? [BLACKOUT]What did Douglas ever do to you?[/BLACKOUT]

It would have brought a lot more weight to the film.
The scene with the injured goat is violent, I don't understand why the arm ripping sequence isn't.

I can't help but think that a great ending credits song would've been 'Where Is My Mind?' by the Pixies.

This was a good movie. I loved the look of the Wild Things, the world they lived in, and dialogue felt genuine.

However, the movie was a bit too long and it dragged towards the end. The music was alright but it was such a downer...except the music when they were dirt clod fighting which was the same music as the trailer. This movie had too many downer moments and I just felt sad most of it. There were a couple of bright spots that made me smile but there weren't enough.

Spike did a good job directing and the parallels with the Wild Thing's and Max's life were good. I wish we could have seen who some of the other Wild Things like Douglas represented in Max's life. I got a little teary eyed at the end when Max was leaving. The kid who played Max did a really good job. It was a good kid's performance.

Overall, good movie. 8/10. This isn't a movie I would want to buy on dvd or could see 2 or 3 times in theatres but it was a good heartfelt movie about growing up.
