Where were you the first time you saw your favourite movie? Did you see it when it first came out in the theatre already expecting it be great? Was it something you’ve never heard of before? Was it made before you were born and viewed it long after it’s release? Was it something you first passed on but later saw it and loved it ever since?

So describe…the theatre, VHS, DVD, television etc…where were you the first time you saw YOUR favourite movie?

I was at the theater by my house with my dad watching Spider-man 1...on May 5th a sunday night. the crowd loved it, it was incredible...every sequence was awesome and the last swinging scene had my jaw dropped to the ground.
I loved it...It made my hopes of becoming a movie director stronger....*sigh* Good times, good times.
Oh and I also saw it in France when i went there for vacation...the crowd there was great too and the theater was bigger and nicer.
It was the first film I saw in theaters twice (that and LOTR 2 are the only movie Ive seen twice at the cinema)

I must of been 4 or 6 years old... I was in Kindergarten ... I remember begging my dad to rent Robocop, I don't know why, I just was. So he went and rented Robocop, he didn't know it was rated R, he just went and rented it... That was the day I saw my first rated R film, one of the most gory action films ever made and it was glorious... I wouldn't be able to see it again for a decade but when I was reunited with this glorious movie... it was magic...

Most of my other favorite films became my favorites due to the fact that I kept thinking about them after I was done watching them.

I was 8 years old when my dad took me along with a bunch of his work buddies to go see Tombstone. It was the most awesome movie experience I've ever had, I felt all grown up being in this theater with all these adults and no other kids and then the movie completely blew me away. To this day I still watch it on a weekly basis.

Sitting in a packed UK cinema and singing the Ghostbusters theme with every single person in the place ... Plymouth 1984.

It was just one of those showings where everybody was relaxed and got pulled into the movie, wonderful.

It was Norwich, England in 2001, and the theatre for The Fellowship of the Ring was so crowded we had to take whatever seats we could get. I knew little about Tolkien and wasn't a huge fan of fantasy.

You all know how incredible the film is, so I don't need to explain it. It just blew me away, I was almost speechless afterwards.

My grandfather LOVES Clint Eastwood. As a result I grew up watching most, if not all, of his films. Some time when I was a kid I saw The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. At the time, however, a lot of it went over my head and it wasn't really my favorite film. My favorite was Tim Burton's Batman from 1989. It wasn't till middle school that I re-watched The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and it became my favorite.

Well, for me it would be early 1994 when my dad ordered Jurassic Park on PPV. I've never seen the movie prior and I was amazed at how the dinosaurs were brought to life on screen and thought the movie was a lot of fun became my favourite movie ever since. The score will always be stuck in my head.

My teacher recommended me that I see Almost Famous because of my love for the early 1970s' rock scene. I saw it, and it took me about four viewings to officially deem it my favorite movie, but it sure enough remains my favorite movie.

In the Bronx, when I was 3. My folks took me to see the original Star Wars back when it was first released (they were seeing it for the 2nd time). The theater was packed, and I remember they cheered so loud when the Death Star blew up at the end that people were actually stomping on the floor and cheering.

I was in the theater, with seats in the first row (I hate that row, but everywhere else had people seated...though I was in line an hour early!) on the Wed. opening night.

This movie was Spider-Man 2.

The Two Towers.

Just experiencing movie greatness in a packed out cinema, peopel cheering, enjoying the movie- that is what cinema is about.

And i remember when i first saw Star Wars Episode II: AOTC.

Even though, looking back it seems less than spectacular, in the cinema when i was 12/13 years old- it was the movie I was waiting for.

And seeing Yoda kick ass. Well...that was a movie in itself.

I watched Independence Day in my bedroom on VHS I had borrowed from a friend I think it was my Soph Year in High School, so about 10 years ago or 11 I guess. It was just a great story to me. It has remained my all time favorite since my first viewing, sometimes I'll just throw it in the DVD player and listen to it when I'm on the web or cleaning or just random stuff around the house

Crazy!!! That's EXACTLY the same for me!! RoboCop kicks MAJOR ass!!!

FIrst time i remebr when we went and saw teeange mutant ninja turtles 1 in the theater. I think it was my first movie I saw that I remeber.I think I was 13 or 15 when I saw it.

I don't really have an all-time fave movie, but one of my top ones is Ghostbusters. I remember I had this VHS 2-pack of both movies when I was wee and would watch the damn things over and over again. I'd always leave the room when Gozer came out and came back when Stay Puft started his rampage. That ***** was scurry! And don't get me started about the ghost nanny from GB2...*shivers*

I was with my dad watching TV about 2 years ago.
He changed the channel, and then it came on. From then, I became fascinated with it, then bought the DVD. From there on, it was love.

^ What movie?
Anyway, my favorite childhood movie was Spiderman. I remember seeing it on May 4th with my dad and when the music started I had goosebumps all over.
I have to say my most recent favorite movie is The Fountain. I saw it with my brother and I remember my jaw literally dropping when Hugh Jackman gets sucked up into Xibalba.

A couple of years ago I was at home and saw Goodfellas was playing on cable. I had heard it was better than the Godfather so I decided to watch it. That movie changed the way I look at movies...
