One of the only things that I would of liked to see in TDK would be to have seen at least some of the great posters we saw incorporated into the film...I mean...Burning Batsymbol...Batpod rushing out of the building...Joker with knife behind his back walking into the street...Batsy looking outside his penthouse! All of those would probably of been great scenes. I mean...Were they scenes that were shot but cut...Or what...

Would any of you would of liked to see them in the movie...?

I would've loved to have seen a burning bat-symbol. Almost like the Joker's pronouncing that he's in control of Gotham now and Batman is nothing but a joke to him. That would've been so cool. :hoboj:

How would that be achieved in the movie though? Maybe Joker would put gas drums in different floors of a skyscraper to form the logo upon explosion

...

Even if Nolan was a sloppy, inefficient director, and even if he had not stated clearly enough already that there aren't any deleted scenes...

Do you really think that Warner Bros would allow such a massive money shot as a building with a bat-symbol enflamed across multiple floors get cut? and why?

I mean, the poster is wicked. But let's not loose our heads here.

I think that since those posters images were not in the film, it gives the posters their own unique-ness. The posters are great, I still have most of them hanging on my wall and I still love looking at them..

They cut the journey to Krypton scene from Superman Returns, if i remember right.

Ehh, I'm sick of seeing burning superhero logos.

Didn't someone say that a movie constists of 170,000 moving images - but a poster has to convey the movie in 1 image. Even if the scenes were not in the film - they did convey the theme of the movie.

The batsymbol would have been lame (see: "Tom Jane Punisher"). The knife one was an actual shot (see: Numerous trailers) was just cut for w/e reason. The bat-pod = meh. That thing didn't win me over. I HATED the tumbler pre-begins but that movie made me do a full 360. Bat-pod I despised......and still do. I hate that thing and think it's pretty horrible. Brick wall Joker signs, Batman's face on cards = eh. Not necessary. Cool, but not needed in the movie.

Exactly. And thats why posters can be cheesy and over the top and most of the times wouldnt fit well in the movie itself. The burning batsymbol is cool in the poster but it would probably be cheesy in the film. IMHO that is.

How can you not like the pod Jow? It has an amazing desing and batman's billowing cape when he rides it is just amazing.

Incorporating the burning bat symbol would have been easy. All they'd have to do is have it be one of the buildings either Dent or Rachel which exploded.

Since when do movie posters have to be completely movie accurate? I mean, the original poster for "Star Wars" had Princess Leia's hand merely inches away from Luke Skywalker's junk. Thank god that never happened in the movie.

if you think a scene in which a burning bat logo in a building wouldve been acceptable...youre either insane or just very very naive & ignorant.

The posters don't have to be in there. It's a non issue.

The burning bat symbol for the poster is amazing but way too far fetched for a part of the realistic vision Nolan and co had created. I would though woulda liked to see Bats glaring at the city with the blue tint, that woulda been really cool!

As great as that poster is, the burning symbol that was in the Crow, Daredevil and The Punisher. No thanks. And posters are made by a marketing staff after the movie or during production, which has (or should have been) planned already in pre-production.

In short Nolan had nothing to do with the posters and they are marketing. He wanted to make a great movie and put in plenty of money shots. But he did not put in needless pose shots like some other directors would have tried to do (Michael Bay, Brett Ratner, etc.). I'm fine with that.
