In Uncanny #286 he was right there with the earthbound X-men and Hepzibah......but then in #287 he wasn't around.....and I don't recall any mention of him......So where'd he go and why didn't they explain it.....I kinda figured Brubaker was gonna keep him around.

UXM 286 and 287 came out close to 15 years ago and Darwin wasnt created back then. lol..I think you mean 486 and 487. Hopefully he died within those weeks that passed between issues

Well,I obviously meant #486 and #487........duing #286 and #287 he would have been dormant inside of Vulcan who was atrapped at the bottom of Krakoa.....or something.

I kinda liked Darwin....I bet he is where all the missing X-men are after a mission - the Med ward!

I know, I was just messing with ya

I guess it's safe to say that Brubaker forgot about him. Too many comics to keep track of perhaps :p

Man, he was the only thing keeping my interest until I dropped the arc 5 issues in. Now that it's over, I want more of him!

I didn't mind Darwin but did he not seem a tad to strong? I mean he is pretty much unkillable. He adapts to everything, how do you kill him?

by either shipping him off to limbo where he will be forgotten and die or off panel in a gas chamber as part of a Weapon X experiment.

theoretically, couldn't he just 'evolve' to breathe the gas?

yeah. but u kinda missed the point. Weapon X killed off ALOT of cool mutants that technically could have used their abilities to survive the camps and escape. So a sensible thing like Darwin's ability to adapt would be moot because the writers would off him anyways

It does seem that once a mutant or character in the Marvel U gets too powerful..they seem to disappear or undergo some depowering incident. They never stay at a high power lvl. Which is good in a way but the writers behind the stories have to start getting more imaginative.

But I still can't think of an actual way to kill Darwin, besides what Ourcry said. Can anyone think of a way?

He went off to practice natural selection.

He went off to practice natural selection.

But if you think about it Darwin would be at the top of the natural selection chart. Natural Selection is pretty much survival of the fittest and someone that can adapt to pretty much anything would be up there.

could he survive a speeding bullet to the head?

doubt it..

If he can walk through a bunch of lasers and drift in space I think he can take a bullet lol. His skin would harden or something.

does his power react that instantly?

Well when he got sucked into space it seemed that he immediately started to breath it. Unless I missed a panel or two.

And in Deadly Genesis when the temple floor fell from under Darwin he landed with a bounce lol.

Actually I might have to retract that last reply by me.

When he walks through the lasers of Prof X's cell he trys first and gets stung. Then after getting the first taste of pain he Adapts and then walks through. Thus just might be killable by a speeding bullet. BUt it would have to kill him on the first shot.

They couldn't use their powers to survive because Weapon X had Leach hooked up to some machine that amplified his power leaching abilities over the whole camp. No one had the powers.

And the only people killed off panel in Neverland was Maggott and Sonia Blaze I think. People say that the guy sitting beside Maggott was Paulie Provenzano, but it was never confirmed and he wasn't named (and he has a normal looking face, so it could be or could not be). They say Cecelia Reyes was in there, but she was never shown to go into the gas chamber. I guess she's off hanging out with Adam X, who was said to die off panel with no mention or storyline to go along with it.
