Comics Where's Darwin?

Darwin easily has the most interesting mutation of the past 5 or so years. I wanna study him :o

But Darwin isn't even an original. Lifeguard beat him to the punch. I'm sure if they kept her around long enough, she'd be just as interesting with her abilities. she already is incredibly more appealing as a character.

I think Lifeguard's biggest problem was that she was written by Claremont. She like many of his other creations during that time like Slipstream and Thunderbird III had potential, but just couldnt reach them under his pen

Slipstream actually sucked. i was glad to see him go, even if he was Lifeguard's brother. Thunderbird III was a keeper though. he and Lifeguard need a comeback...along with Red Lotus

If I had to pick one character to come back it'd be LIfeguard. She had such potential storyline wise and I wish to death that Bru would have picked her up for his Shi'ar story, as her storyline would have easily fallen into place there (part of her mystery being the daughter of either D'Ken, Lilandra, or Deathbird... all of which were in Bru's run). I like Darwin, but Lifeguard could have easily fit in his role there for everything save his connection to Vulcann.

Wasn't her power limited to only being used to save someone's life?

I liked Slipstream and thought he had potential. I hated Thunderbird and thought he was one of the worst X-men while CC was writing. However that changed when he appeared over in New X-men. Morrison made him more interesting and deeper in one issue than CC ever did in 2 years of writing the character
