We had Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Les Misérables, Sweeney Todd and several others had been Broadway musicals first then become musical films. Now which Broadway Musicals would you like to see become a film next?

I would like to see Cats and Starlight Express become movie musicals. What would you like to see?

Cats would be really weird... but interesting.

Wicked
Imagine This (Even though it closed two weeks after opening)

Jersey Boys. Without a doubt. It could easily be a film on the level of the other great musician biopics.

The Jekyll and Hyde musical as well as Wicked would be awesome. Wicked might need some script changes though to make it work better as a film.

i personally thought the stage show for shrek was better than the movies, wouldn't mind seeing that after a few years, lets hope Dreamworks done with the sequels.

This was actually a movie first, then became a broadway musical, but I think it might be interesting if it went full circle and became a movie again.

Evil Dead: The Musical

Other than Young Frankenstein, then I'd have to say NONE.

i don't know, i've only heard the soundtrack on youtube, but i didn't find younf frankestein to be all that special. here's hoping mel brookes puts out another producers with blazing saddles, is he still planning that one?

In the Heights
Carousel (which was already a movie, but we need a new version)
Man of La Mancha (this was a movie too, but it was terrible)
Rock of Ages
Spring Awakening
Wicked

I'd say Wicked is the biggest name on deck.

Although I'd love a Million Dollar Quartet movie.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

Brigadoon remake.
Way Out West (I don't know if this was ever on Broadway, but I saw it at a high school once and laughed my ass off).

Sondheim's Assassins. Wouldn't make much, but it would be something to behold. Although, realistically, Into the Woods is probably feasible financially.

It's only a matter of time before Wicked is made.

Already in the works, though, as there has been no news on it for several years, hopefully the rights to it will expire and SpideyLad and I will obtain them, and proceed to make the most brilliant thing in all of creation :p.

Even better than Ghostbusters? :awesome:

To be slightly on topic, Ghostbusters could totally be a musical.

Didn't McG sign on to direct a Spring Awakening movie?

Wicked is a forgone conclusion, it will be a movie...it's just a matter of time.

Wicked!

And from the west end, We Will Rock You - would be awesome.

Into the Woods, Curtains, and the new version of Hair.

In The Heights
Rock Of Ages

I'm pretty certain someone (I think the creator of the musical not sure though) has the rights for a Wicked movie and are just waiting for the right time.
